NEWS : MAY 2001
The good news is that
we've just got backing to release 2 new E.P's this year, with the first
appearing over the summer period. We've really got to apologise to those
of you who bought the S2FU E.P, and have been wondering where the hell the
follow -up is. It's been way too long, and for a band that writes as many
songs as we do - extremely frustrating. The reasons have been purely
financial, as although the last E.P was a great success for us, we have
since broken ties with the company who released it (The agreement was
always for a one-off anyway). However, that is all behind us now - and we
can't wait to get some new material out there. We've been recording in
Manor Park Studios - Magherafelt with producer Neal Calderwood (ex- Scheer,
currenly with Lima) - the tracks in question being : What Drives You? ,
How D'You Get So Low, When You Leave, Let It Flow, Through Innocent Eyes
and Glory on My Mind. The first E.P - which should appear late June or
August (July being a "slow" month in these parts) - is most
likely to feature Through Innocent Eyes, What Drives You?, When You Leave
and Glory On My Mind (Though the order hasn't been decided yet). We'll
make sure to give it the biggest launch possible - most likely in the
Empire Music Hall, Belfast - believe us, it will be a night out to
remember! We will then tour as extensively as possible - and hopefully get
to turn YOUR home town into the Rock'n'Roll capital of the universe for
the evening. (Let us know of any good venues) In the meantime we will
continue to record tracks for the second release - indeed, we're heading
over to Liverpool at the end of May to record 2 tracks with our friend
Michael Crossey of the Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts. These trips
usually turn into ridiculous drinking sessions - so here's to the best of
both worlds. As always - we'd love to
hear which PAY*OLA tracks you'd most like to see released - check the new MUSIC
section for a list of our songs. (And keep an eye out for more
additions to the website in coming months). Anyway people.. Keep Your Head
Up! We Love You all, Philip,
Nicky, James and Nick
