Paul McCartney surprised his daughter Stella, on stage, presenting her with the Designer of the Year award for her work at Chloe in New York on Saturday night at the H1/Vogue Fashion Awards.
The former Beatle got a standing ovation from the audience and a heartfelt hug from his daughter.
"Well, I'd better thank him," Stella said. "And I would like to thank my mum. I give this to her."
Stella would have made her late mother proud, ending her acceptance speech by asking the high-fashion audience not to buy fur coats. Linda McCartney, a passionate supporter of animal rights, died of breast cancer in 1998.
