A faster, more distorted version of this song had already appeared on the
flip side of the "Hey Jude" single. "Revolution" is a reply to the arious
revolutionary bodies who saw John as a natural ally. The key lyrics are
"...change your head... free your mind instead." Responding to critcism of
"Revolution", John said, "I'll tell you what's wrong with it [the world] -
people. Tell me one successful revolution. Who mucked up communism,
Christianity, capitalism, Buddhism..." John himself confuses the issue on
the album by following the line "...count me out", with the word "in".
