THE WORD
(Lennon-McCartney)
1965
In his song "The Word", John marks the beginning of the love and peace era.
By now, the influence of LSD was beginning to permeate John's work. This
time, as it would so often in the future, it resulted in a calling for
universal love and peace. He later described the song as the Beatles' first
"message" song.
