Boggy Depot

After making five platinum and multi-platinum albums with Alice In Chains, guitarist/songwriter Jerry Cantrell is taking a temporary break from the band and releasing 'Boggy Depot', his eagerly-awaited debut solo album on Columbia Records. Named for the area of Oklahoma where Cantrell's father, Jerry, Sr., (a/k/a 'the Rooster') grew up, 'Boggy Depot' features 12 new compositions penned by the man who's written many of Alice In Chains' most memorable radio hits including No Excuses (from 'Jar Of Flies'), Rooster, Would?, and Down In A Hole (from 'Dirt'). 'Boggy Depot' is in stores on April 7th. A special 2-record vinyl edition of 'Boggy Depot' will be released March 31st. Cut You In, the first single from 'Boggy Depot', has already received airplay on major New York and Los Angeles radio stations who, in anxious anticipation, jumped the record's official release date. In addition to writing all the songs on 'Boggy Depot', Jerry Cantrell plays guitar and piano and sings on the album. Jerry is joined on the record by Fishbone bassist Norword Fisher (on Settling Down and Breaks My Back); Pantera bassist Rex Brown (on Dickeye, My Song, Keep The Light On, Satisfy, and Hurt A Long Time); Primus bassist Les Claypool (on Between and Cold Piece) and AIC bassist Mike Inez (on Cut You In, Jesus Hands, and Devil By His Side). Fishbone's Angelo Moore plays horns on Cut You In and Cold Piece while AIC drummer Sean Kinney contributes to several tracks. 'Boggy Depot' is co-produced by Jerry Cantrell and Toby Wright, the man behind the dials on the last three multi-platinum Alice In Chains albums: 'Jar Of Flies', 'Alice In Chains', and 'MTV Unplugged'. The album was recorded at Studio D and The Plant in Sausalito, California and Paradise Sound in Index, Washington. Jerry is currently putting a live band, including Sean Kinney, together for a tour to begin, tentatively, in mid-April.
