I take full responsibility for The Beaks! They only played in the studio and the word "they" is a relative term. Sometimes the Beaks included members of Stumblin' Buffalo, sometimes members of the Clare Willey Group (we called Clare the Senior Beak), and sometimes only me. It was a catch all name for recording projects both at Timberline Studios and JHP. I tried to get Wayne Pearsall to call Stumblin' Buffalo the Beaks, but all he would ever do was shake his head and laugh and say "get away from me with The Beaks!" when I mentioned it. Hey, I think The Beaks is certainly as good a name as Stumblin' Buffalo. (grin)
