The Epics was my second band. I met Ron Brewer (guitar & vocals) in gym class and found out that he was a hard core Dave Clark Five fan like me. He had two friends, Tom Whalen (guitar & vocals) and Dave (Bud) Lucas (guitar, percussion & vocals and a rabid Kinks fan) who were of like mind, and The Epics were born. I played bass on the E and A strings of a six-string electric guitar because no one else was willing. Our first recording experience was pretty scary, but very fun. The Epics also included Mark Wirtz (drums) and Sheldon Skinkle (guitar & vocals) in a later incarnation.
