Hi! Yes, it's me the traveling non-sleeping reviewer....see what I go through for you people? :)
So tonight was just as great if not better than last night! I am floored that they keep getting better and better every night.. I was expecting a tireder (is that even a word?) band tonight...but they were so ON!
It was an early show (they went on at 8.. yet again I had no idea there would be an opening band.. these guys were interesting...Princes of Babylon... kinda bluesy, rap, I dunno... but pretty cool) but anyway...
The guys were not tired and were awesome! ( I don't even know if I am making sense at this point...). Anyway, they played Big and Bad, Mr. Pinstripe Suit, King of Swing, I Wanna Be, Mambo Swing, Jumpin Jack, Jump with My Baby, You me and the Bottle, Go Daddy-O, Big Time Operator, What's Next, I'm Not Sleeping, Minnie the Moocher, Some Things, Who's That Creeping, and So Long Farewell...(this by no means is in the right order....I cannot be expected to remember all the details!)
I have decided that my favorite
part of the new show is definitely the Big Bad Voodoo
Daddy blues! Tonight it started with
Glen
and Mike :) So so so so so goooooood!
Mike
is really really good! I also liked how they changed it from last night...
made it a new show for me:) Karl
played the
clarinet this time. I was loving
the
range of instruments they used for my listening
pleasure!
There was a girl next to me (her first show)... it was cool she was floored by how much endless energy they had! She was also amazed by how great Kurt was (she was a drummer).... unfortunately they did not do a meet and so I felt bad because it would have been cool to see her get excited :) ( not that she wasn't already).... and I will point out that I knew ahead of time there was no meet and greet only because it was a Saturday night, the venue is a huge club and Saturdays are the biggest and busiest nights of theirs...(especially this one some amazing DJ apparently)... this by no means is reflective of the band since I know in this case it had absolutley nothing to do with the band's desires but was completely the control of the club.....but I digress...
I do have to make a comment about drunk
older people at the show... gotta laugh when a 50 year old woman
pushes me out of the way so she can swoon...and
when her husband apparently thinks i am a dog (or cat) and feels the need
to pet my head ....just not an attractive
sight over all, but still humorous...
