7-18, 10:14...actually i wrote this a couple of days ago in the wee hours of the morning, but it got erased and i had to rewrite it...not as if you care...
I just saw "10 Things I Hate About You". i wasnt going to see it at first, because usually these shakespeare remakes are never up to my standards, but i had some free passes, and i knew some friends who were extras and wanted to see them, so i gave it a whirl. It was MCFREAKING incredible! I laughed, i cried...etc. David Krumholtz has always been understated even though he's done so many films, it was nice to see him get a chance in the spotlight as it were. Then there was Julia Stiles. I am chartruese with envy. She's a great actor, and, hello, did anyone else notice that she's incredibly beautiful? And then, of course, I practically want to BE Kat (Julia's cahracter, you know tghe "shrew"). The hair, the clothes, the acidic wit...not to mention the boyfriend. Okay, did anyone else notice: "Patrick" is Kat's suitor in 10 things...and "Petruchio" was in TTS. Patrick, Petruchio, hey! Not to mention his last name was Verona. Wait, actually, in TTS they didnt lay their scene in fair Verona, it was Padua, right? Oh, yea, cuz the name of the High School in the film was "Padua HS". Oh, they are sooo smart! hmm...well, anyway. speaking of the HS, it's in a town near where i live, so yay for me, i know some people who were extras in the film , wow, its almost like i'm famous!! At first i was like oh i wish i could have been an extra, then i realized that would be bad, because if i came within a one mile radius of Heath Ledger, I would be compelled to jump him. Now, let me say a few words on Heath Ledger. When i first saw the previews, i was like "Eh, he's not that hot". then when i saw him in action....he took my breath away. you know there are some people that when you first see them, just in a picture or whatever, they aren't "hot" or "cute" or what have you. but then you see them in action, and something about the way they act, talk, even move, just drives you crazy. It's hard to explain, but Joseph Fiennes and Heath Ledger both are like that. so the story goes, he gets my attention, and naturally i went home and search him on the web. Thru several fan pages i discovered that yes, his accent is real, yes, he really sings, he studies the bard, and he did stage before screen. God, why doesn't this guy just rip my heart out, throw it in a blender and hit frappé? Thats practically everything i love. Like, you know when people ask "what are your weaknessess in the opposite sex", I always say "guys with accents(especially British, Irish, and AUSTRALIAN), who can act, sing, and have a sense of humor". So, there you have it, the "what sarah loves" deal all neatly wrapped up in a Heath Ledger package (not that kind of package...get your mind out of my gutter!). Keck, why cant guys like that go to my school?
