Beautiful Stranger

CHAPTER FOUR

We arrived at Tony's Italian Deli at around 9, and by this point, I was totally confused as to what was happening
tonight. We walked in and met with none other than Tony himself. He was a short Italian man of about 45 with thick,
dark eyebrows and a big belly.

"Its nice to meet ya Summer," Tony said with a thick Italian accent.

"Same to you. Nice place you got here," I said smiling pleasantly while looking around.

"Is everything ready?" Sean asked Tony.

"Yeah, yeah, everything," Tony replied while elbowing Sean in the ribs.

"Great! I love ya man," Sean and Tony did the man hug thing where you grab hands and then hug. "I owe ya man,"
Sean said Tony just winked. "This way babe," Sean said as he ushered me past crowds of eating people.

We past all the tables in the dining area, and I grew confused. Where were we going? We walked back into the
kitchen, and then out the back door. Where was he taking me?

The view from up there was amazing. I should have known that Sean would do something so fitting of his personality
for our first date. Here we sat, on the rooftop of Tony's Italian Deli, sipping champagne and stargazing.

"So how was dinner?" he asked, intrigued by the stars.

"It was great. I loved it." I turned to him. "So do you come here a lot? You know, and just stargaze?" I asked softly.

"Yeah, I come here all the time. Its my favorite place to be. To just think. And relax," he said while turning to look
back at me.

"Yeah, well unfortunately, I don't own a place to sit and think yet. My dorm would be the only place, but its so loud
that I can't accomplish anything, much less thinking."

"Why is it so loud babe?" he asked, concerned.

"Oh its nothing. Just that my neighbor is so loud. I can't stand it," I said while rolling my eyes.

"Oh man, that's gotta be tough. How do you get any work done?" he asked

"I don't!" I said while laughing. I looked down and smiled to myself. I wondered what time it was. "Damn," I said
while looking at my watch. It read 12:47. "I really should get going soon. Vic promised me she'd help me with that
paper I have due tomorrow and I haven't even started yet."

"Wow, the time just flew," he said, checking out his own watch. "You better get started!" he said while starting to
clean up. "I'll take you home."

"Thanks," I said upset that our date had been cut short. I started picking up the dinner plates. "You understand right?"
I asked hopefully.

"Of course babes!" he said sympathetically. "I must say though, college is tough on a man’s love life," he joked.

"Yeah, no kidding" I playfully responded.

As we walked up to Vic’s front door, I pulled my keys out of my little black handbag. I started to open the door, and
then stopped. I put my keys into my other hand.

"Ya know, this is so typical and as much as I hate myself for not being able to think of something more creative, I just
had to say it." I looked up at him. "I had a great time tonight."

"So did I." He smiled at me. Then he added, "Well creativity doesn't seem to be one of your downfalls. Look at your
outfit," he said jokingly. "I love the leopards."

"Thanks," I murmured, while grinning lopsidedly. I stood up all of a sudden. "Well aren't you going to ask me
something?" I said with a little more spunk. "I totally set it up," I said while smiling seductively.

"Me? Ask you? Why don't you ask me?" he said trying to look innocent.

"Because I'm not good at this kinda stuff," I said smiling. I looked at the floor.

He used the tips of his fingers to pull my chin up, forcing me to look him in the eyes. "You're doing fine, babe," he
said while leaning in. "But let me check to make sure." He kissed my lips sweetly and I kissed him back. "Yeah, see,
fine," he said pretending to have drawn that conclusion from our kiss.

All I could do was smile back.

"Well, I guess I could ask you then," I said shyly. I cleared my throat. "Well here goes nothing." I looked up at him
and smiled. "I had a wonderful time tonight, and I wouldn't mind doing it again," I said softly. "I mean, as long as you
didn't mind of course." I looked at his face, waiting for some kinda expression.

"Hmm..." he murmured. "Well I need sometime to think." He smirked mischievously and said "Of course! I would love
to. Count me in girl!" I was beyond excitement, and I don't think I concealed it very well.

"How hard was that?" he asked, chuckling. "I knew you were fine." He leaned in an gave me another quick kiss.

"Well, what can I say? I had a good teacher." I flirted back, going along with this little game. Sean just smiled.

"Well I guess I'll let you go, you've got a nice chunk of work to do tonight."

"Yeah, 10 pages of fun," I said sarcastically. He smiled.

"Have fun. And call me tomorrow," he said while handing me his number on a napkin from Tony's.

"Don't worry. Expect a phone call," I said flirtatiously.

"Later girl."

I gave him a hug and with that, he was gone.
