» CHAPTER SIXTEEN «
"So we meet again," he muttered. He offered his arm and I followed him into the limo. He whispered, "We don't usually take limos. Just big, rusty ol' vans."
I laughed. "Hi guys!" I gave a hug to Howie, Kevin, Nick and AJ.
Brian shoved out his arms, as if to receive a hug with the rest. I didn't hug him, and he pouted. "You forgot something."
"Oh yeah, another hug goes to AJ, how silly of me to forget!" I gave another hug to AJ, as everyone laughed. "I'm not serious. Why would I forget you, Rok?" We embraced.
"Whoa, alert the press!" Nick was sarcastic. "They are making peace and hugs!"
"I'll make a dent in your precious little head, Nicky," I threatened.
"I am just playin', Freak." He used the nick name that annoyed me.
"Frack, she's got a good right on her. I would suggest not pushing her buttons," Brian warned.
"C'mon, people. No ‘denting' will happen tonight!" Howie addressed the situation, "This is supposed to be a happy night. And dangit, it will be one!"
Kevin nodded and then interrogated me. "How are you, Morgan?"
"Great, just finished college by a string, thanks to your pal over here." I jerked a finger at Brian.
"It was rather good!" he retorted.
"What is your major?" AJ flicked his attention toward me.
"Psychology."
"That means she can officially sit in one of those big, soft chairs with a clipboard and interview nuts on the couch," Brian joked.
"In a nutshell," I commented and then turned to Brian, "Wanna be my first patient?"
"You crack me up, Morgan." Brian was just about to burst, "Get it? A nut joke."
"Is he always like this?" I asked the guys.
"Yes!" they all chorused.
"We all get excited before anything big."
We pulled up to the big theater and got out. I looped my arm around Brian's. He leaned over to my ear and whispered in a British accent, "I must say, DAH-ling, you look FABULOUS!" I thanked him and we walked down the red carpet with the others. Flashes came from everywhere, blinding me.
"I'm nervous."
"For what reason?" Brian inquired.
"What if people think that I'm your girlfriend or something?"
"That's fine, because we know what our relationship is and nothing is to change that unless we say so. Am I right?" I nodded and he jumped excitedly. "Let's have some fun!"
We entered the building. It was dark and very spacious. To either side, I was engulfed with a sea of seats. Many were already filled. In front of me was the stage. It was lit up with huge spotlights and lots of people were scrambling across it, tweaking this or that.
"Right this way, sirs and madam." The usher took to our seats. They were pretty close to the stage.
