» CHAPTER FOUR «
~ Amanda ~
We all got up and went to the counter. The gorgeous blonde was still there. The guys walked up there and ordered the shoes and how many frames we wanted to bowl, while I took their drinks to the lane that we were assigned to.
"Wait, let me get that girl out, first. It says it's reserved for you guys. Hold on," the gorgeous blonde said.
"No, man. She's with us. Don't worry about it. Otherwise, we would've said something about it," Brian said.
"Ok. What size shoe does she need?" the blonde asked.
"Hey, Sugar! What's your shoe size?!" Brian asked loud enough for me to hear.
"Size 9! If they have it!" I turned back around and then remembered something. "Rok! Get me a water!"
"Okay!" Brian turned around. "She wears size 9 and she would like a water."
"Okay. Coming right up." The blonde went to get the shoes and came back.
"I'll bring the water if you guys want a pitcher of it."
"Sure. That sounds good. We might have some visitors. If we do, call one of us up here to see if they can come in." Nick took my shoes and his shoes.
The guys came over to our lane and sat down in the chairs to change into their bowling shoes.
"Where am I going to sit to change?" I asked.
"Right here," AJ said as he patted his lap.
"You wish."
Brian scooted over in his chair, which gave me half of the seat.
"Thanks, Rok."
"No prob, Sugar."
I changed into my bowling shoes and was about to tuck in Brian's shirt, when I changed my mind. I unbuttoned the shirt and tied the bottom sides at my stomach.
"Amanda," Brian whispered, "you can see your tattoo that way."
"Oh, well. They're going to find out sooner or later. Besides, I'll get hot if I don't unbutton it." I got up and went looking for a ball. Brian joined me in the search. He got a sixteen pound ball while I got a twelve pound ball. We went back to our lane and put our balls down. We waited for the other guys to find their balls before we did a practice frame.
After our practice frame, we began our serious bowling. Howie bowled and hit 8 pins. The last two were split at the farthest ends. Howie picked up his ball to pick up the spare.
As Howie got ready, Brian said, "It looks like a field goal to me, Bob." After Howie let go of the ball, it went straight through. "And it's good," Brian said as Howie held up his arms.
AJ was next. He bowled and hit seven pins. "I don't bowl. I sing, doggone it." He picked up the spare and we all booed him.
"Kevin, it's your turn."
When Nick's turn came up, AJ tried to sneak up on him. Nick caught him before he could lose control of the ball. We bowled and had fun as we did it. It turned out that in that game, AJ won. We all booed as he took a bow.
"All right. Next game. We have three hours to waste before..." Howie trailed off.
"Before what?" I asked.
"Nothing. Howie just has a special thing going on tonight." Nick gave him a look.
"Yeah," Howie agreed.
~ Brian ~
"I still can't believe he's won all of the games so far. That's not funny." Amanda took a drink of her water.
"Can I have a sip?" I asked.
"Why don't you pour your own glass?" she asked as she handed me her water.
"I just want a drink, that's all." I took a drink.
"I know."
~ Amanda ~
"Hey, guys!" the blonde yelled. "There's some people at the door that are trying to get in! I told them they had to wait a minute!"
"I'll check it out. That way, if it's fans, they won't see you." I got up and walked to the door.
"Amanda!" I heard from outside.
"Hi, guys!" I looked at the blonde. "What's your name?"
"Mike."
"Well, Mike, these are my family members. They can be let in." I walked to the door and let them in.
"That guy said we had to wait. We knew that he was doing that for the guys, so we're not mad," Leslie said.
"So, what movie did you see?" I asked as we walked over to our lane.
"We saw Sixth Sense," Aaron pitched in.
"Was it good?" I sat down at the table with the rest of the guys.
"Heck yeah." Tiffany looked around the table.
"Hey, guys. What's up?" Aaron greeted.
"Hey, Aaron," all the guys said at once.
"Guys, this is my friend Tiffany. Tiffany, this is my brother Nick, Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin." Leslie pointed to each of them.
"Hi," Tiffany said.
"Hey," the guys replied.
"Who's winning?" Aaron asked as he sat on my lap.
"AJ. Who else?" I tickled Aaron.
"Well," he said laughing, "I could probably beat him."
"Wanna take over for me for a while? I'm getting tired." I stopped tickling Aaron.
"Yeah. Cool." Aaron hopped up.
The boys began to bowl again. I sat out and talked to my mom. "What was that that I saw on your belly button?" my mom asked.
"Well, I got it tattooed. You don't mind, do you?" I looked at her.
"You could have told me before you did it. Let me see it." My mom looked at me. I got up and showed my mom my belly button tattoo.
"That's cute. That doesn't look bad at all. I like the colors you chose for the tattoo. I love purple roses."
"I'm glad you like it. I didn't want you to be mad at me when you found out." I watched as Leslie and Tiffany sat by the guys as they watched them bowl.
"Well, I'm glad you decided to tell me."
"I was going to tell you, that's what I had planned on doing." I looked back at her.
"I know you were. I didn't say that you weren't." She took a sip of her drink.
"Mom. What did you want to tell me earlier?"
"Well, I was going to tell you that Nick talked to me earlier. I understand how you feel, I'd just feel safer if someone went with you. You get where I'm coming from?" She made me look at her.
"Yeah. I still think I should be able to go, though. I've got the guys going, so that's a plus."
"I don't know. They aren't going to baby-sit you."
"I know. Will you just think about it, though?" I asked.
"I'll think about it. I promise. Your father and I are going to have a discussion on it, if that's okay with you."
"Please do. I want to make sure that if I can go, you both agree on it." I took a sip of water and watched Brian wiggle his butt for the girls as he prepared to bowl.
