» CHAPTER TWO «

Brian coughed as he woke up. His mouth was dry and the room was swelling hot. But after he washed his face with cold water he smiled at himself, he was feeling much better. He checked his answering machine. "Brian sweetie, it's me Kelly…anyway, you said you were feeling better yesterday so want to go bowling tonight? Call me back ASAP. Love you." Kelly and Brian had been going out for 2 days now and she was perky and sweet and Brian managed to get a long with her really well. Brian was feeling much better, good enough to go bowling. He whistled as he called Kelly back. ~~~ Emily's Room

"Tell me whhhyyyyy…." I belted out off tune.

"Ain't nothing but a heartache" Lisa stopped by my room and sang with me.

"Ain't nothing but a mistake…tell me why I never wanna hear you say."

"I WANT IT THAT WAY!!!" We both sang off tune then. She collapsed on my bed and smiled, "Have fun tonight" she said.

"Thanks" I smiled as I gave my hair one last brush and grabbed my car keys. Parking in the Pizza Bowl parking lot brought back a lot of painful memories. I shook them away and practically skipped inside.

~~~ At the Pizza Bowl "So what's up with Brian tonight?" Nick asked over the loud roar of bowling pins being knocked down.

"I just called him, he's going out with Kelly tonight" Kevin said.

"Yeah he told me too, he's feeling better," Howie added.

"Don't tell Emily…ooh she's here…" Nick whistled as Emily walked in.

"Damn….she looks good…" AJ barked like a dog. "Ruff!"

I smiled as I saw AJ… "BONE!!!" I cried dramatically as I saw him.

AJ pretended to pass out. "EMILY MY LOVE!!!" he shouted.

We ran to each other in slow motion. He swept me in his arms and twirled me around. Then he gave me a peck on the cheek. The rest of the guys started cracking up. I hugged Kevin and Howie and was about to hug Nick when he grabbed me and embraced me tightly.

"Yes I know you missed me," I said when I let him go.

He laughed. "I did…it's no fun touring without you, Brian's jokes are stupid," Nick paused and stared at me with those beautiful blue eyes. I stopped smiling…the thought of Brian made me want to cry. "Sorry," Nick mumbled as he sat down next to me. AJ jabbed him.

"That's ok…pizza?" I asked. The four heads nodded at me.

When the last slice was gone we were still laughing. It was about 8 and the bowling alley would close soon so we grabbed our shoes and got our balls.

"Streeeeeeike!!!" AJ shouted triumphantly and did that cackle like he did in Larger Than Life. I laughed.

Howie stepped up and bowled a gutter ball. He turned and made a sad face at us. He pretended to wipe a tear away with his shirt sleeve. We all looked at each other… I started cracking up and Nick was losing it too. Soon all 5 of us were laughing hilariously. It was then that I realized how much I loved them. They were so fun to be around.

Brian and Kelly stood in front of the Pizza Bowl. It looked noisy and crowded inside and they were debating whether or not to go or what.

"You know what?" Kelly asked.

"What?" Brian said.

"When I was little, I always dreamed of dating one of the New Kids on the Block…" she giggled. "And this is so damn close it's weird,"

Brian smiled, "We're better than they were," he laughed, his blue eyes twinkling.

"Yeah, and my fantasy was that Jordan would kiss me under a full moon in the forest…all you could hear was the sound of crickets….and the full moon would illuminate everything," she smiled at him.

Brian gulped and looked up at the full moon. She smiled seductively at him. He didn't realize that this was going to get serious. He just wanted to go bowling. She pressed her lips hard against his. He closed his eyes and moaned Emily's name in his mind.

~~~ "ARRROOOO!!!!!" AJ howled at the moon. I laughed and shivered as we stepped outside. Nick tossed me his jacket.

"Smooth Nick," Kevin snickered.

"What?" Nick said.

"You're supposed to put it on her shoulders…" Howie smiled at me.

"Uh…." Nick tossed it around my shoulders. It ended up covering my head.

"How romantic!" I gushed. Nick laughed and stopped abruptly for some reason. AJ tapped me and showed me this star that he claimed was in the shape of a cat.

"Yo D…that's Brian over there…" Nick nudged Howie.

"Oh shoot…" Howie whispered.

Kevin was busy talking to AJ about the star, he claimed it was more in the shape of a dog he stopped when he saw Brian kissing another girl. AJ was still pointing out the star to me.

"Don't let her see…" Kevin whispered.

"See what?" I turned around and a couple of meters away I saw a blonde making out with… "Brian…" I choked and ran. Nick's jacket flew off my shoulders and I ran to the park across the street.
