» CHAPTER ONE «

Me and my cousin Sara decided it was time for us to grow up and leave the nest (our houses). We were both 19 and we were old enough to live on our own. We both lived in Ontario, Canada. She lives in Toronto and I live in Mississauaga and we were both accepted to the Florida State University. Oh yeah, by the way my name is Jennifer but everyone calls me Jen. Sara and I are very close. We were like sisters. We grew up together and everything.

Before we left to move away we saw a Backstreet Boys concert on June 24 2001. The Backstreet Boys had 4 albums out now and a greatest hits CD and were going as strong as ever. Ever since Brian and AJ broke up with their girlfriends they kept on getting more and more fans! Gee, I wonder why? (Author's Note: I'm being sarcastic if you didn't know).

Anyway, a few weeks after the concert and our graduation ceremonies, we packed our stuff and left for Florida. The airport was packed with students going away to all different countries and states and provinces. Anyway we said our last tearful good-byes to our families and off we went.

"I'm really gonna miss Canada" I said.

"What the hell are ya gonna miss about it?" Sara asked me surprised.

"Well for one thing my friends and family."

"Oh yeah. Me too. Anyway, so did you see how big Uncle Leo's house is?"

"No! Lemme see it!"

"Here." She handed me a picture.

"Holy cow! Its huge!" I said in shock.

"I know. Isn't it beautiful?"

"It's gorgeous. I can't believe Uncle Leo is moving to Washington and is leaving this big beautiful house all for us. He is the best. Oooh look! He has a pool and hot tub too!!! He he! I looove Uncle Leo!"

Sara laughed. "Yeah me too!"

When we got to Florida we were so excited. We got our luggage and Uncle Leo came to pick us up.

"Hey girls!"

"Uncle Leo!" we both yelled in unison.

"How are you?" he asked, happy to see us.

"Great Uncle Leo. How about you?" I asked.

"Well I'm all ready to go to Washington. We just gotta move you girls into my house and we will be all set! C'mon. Let's go."

So off we went. During the drive we saw a lot of Florida. It's so beautiful. I was gonna love living here. As for our mode of transportation when Uncle Leo leaves and we are left behind, we had no clue. Well actually he gave us his car because he is going to buy a new one in DC but Sara wanted it so I'll have to use my new wardrobe money and buy myself a car.

When we finally got to his house, Sara and I jumped out of the car and ran inside.

"Holy guacamole! It's even bigger than in the picture! Uncle Leo this is beautiful! Thank you so much!" I said.

"You're welcome girls. Now let's get you girls inside and then I'll give ya a tour of the house."

"Alright. Sure" we said.

As we were looking around the house, we noticed two guys staring at us from across the street. Every time they would look at us, we would look back and they would quickly turn their heads.

"What are those guys looking at? Do they have some kind of staring problem or something?" Sara asked.

"They're kinda cute don't ya think?" I said with a big smile on my face.

"Well kind of" Sara said staring right at them. "They're probably talking about us."

"How do you figure that?" I asked.

"Because they are pointing at us" Sara said.

"Oh yeah. They are aren't they?"

A few minutes later Uncle Leo came back out of the house in a rush as if he had seen a fire. He threw us the keys and said, "Girls I didn't even realize what time it was. I'm gonna be late for my flight if I don't leave soon. Sorry but I can't give you a tour. You can just look at the house for your selves. It is yours now. The house is all paid for and so is the pool clean out and every thing. The car is also paid for so you don't have to worry about that either." Just then a taxi pulled up in front of the house. "Well I have to go now. I hope you have fun and good luck with school and fitting in, in Florida. See ya." We both hugged and kissed him and said good bye one last time and before he drove away he said, "Don't worry. The people in this neighborhood are really nice and friendly. Bye!" The taxi drove away and he was gone.

As we were starting to put our luggage in the house, the two guys from across the street came over. The blonde one came up to me and talked to me first.

"Hi. Do you girls need some help?" he asked in a cute little southern accent.

"Umm... SARA!" I yelled.

"What do you want?!" She ran outside.

"These guys offered their help" I told her.

"Oh great. Thanks. We would really appreciate it."

"No problem" said the other guy. He had dark hair, red highlights and a funny looking goatee. "My name's AJ McLean."

"Mine's Brian Littrell."

Sara and I looked at each other with wide eyes. Then we motioned to each other as to not say anything about them being two of the Backstreet Boys.

"Hi Brian and AJ. My name is Jennifer Straine and this is my cousin Saraphina Straine. But you can call us Jen and Sara" I said with a huge smile on my face.

"Well nice to meet you. So where do we start?" Brian asked. AJ just stood there staring at Sara as if he saw an angel.

I paused for a minute just staring at Brian. Then I came out of my daze and said, "Umm, start with those two big blue ones. We would never be able to carry them on our own."

"Sure. AJ... AJ... AJ!!"

"Huh? What?"

"Come and help me!"

"Oh yeah right. I'm coming."

As soon as they went into the house and were out of hearing range we both screamed.

"AHHHHHHHH!!!!"

"I can't believe it! Who would have thought that in the first hour we are here we meet two of the Backstreet Boys!!!" I yelled with excitement.

"We can't let them know that we know because if they know that we know they aren't gonna wanna know us. You know?" Sara said without taking a breath.

"WHAT?!"

"Oh never mind! Just pretend like we don't know it's them. Ok?"

"Gotcha."

The guys came back out and started taking the rest into the house and we followed right behind them.

"I'm sure gonna miss Leo" Brian said.

"Yeah me too. He was the best. You guys are lucky for getting such a big house" AJ added.

"We really do appreciate you guys doing this for us" I said.

"Anything for two beautiful ladies such as yourselves" AJ said.

Sara and I looked at each other and silently squealed.

"That's AJ alright" Sara whispered.

"Um hmm" I whispered back.

After about twenty minutes they were done. "Thank you so much!! You guys were so nice to do this" Sara said.

"Don't mention it" AJ said. "Here's our number."

"Call us whenever ya need something. Sugar, flour, boyfriends. Ha ha ha." Brian laughed uncomfortably.

"That's funny!" I laughed, wishing he really meant it. Sara just sat on the couch staring at AJ. I'm telling you, if she stared any harder, she would burn a hole in his head!

"Well we gotta go. We're meeting my cousin and our friends for lunch. See ya" Brian said and they walked out the door.

"AHHHH!!!" we screamed again.
