» CHAPTER TWO «

"NICHOLAS THOMAS AND CASSIDY NICOLE, GET OVER HERE THIS MINUTE," the voice yelled, not even taking notice that I was sitting, slightly laughing at the kids.

"Oh no," Nicholas said as he and Cass tried to hide behind me without much success. I was sitting on a couch so it didn't leave much room to hide behind.

I looked up to see who was yelling at Nicky and Cassidy, and found it to be the bright blue eyes of Brian Littrell.

"Nicholas, Cassidy, what are you two doing up? You were supposed to be in bed," Brian paused to look at his watch, "3 hours ago. Who said you could stay up?"

Nicholas and Cassidy both looked at each other, and giggled a little before Cassidy said in a small voice, "Nick did, before concert. Mommy too," and went back to hiding behind me and Nicholas.

"NICK!!!!! GET IN HERE," Brian yelled, his fatherly side taking over. I knew from Dawn being a huge BSB fan that since Brian had become a father, he didn’t like when anyone other than his wife interfered with how he raised his daughter. Brian was very protective of his girl and when any of the other guys let Cassidy do what she wanted for a 2 year old, he always got on their case about it. And I knew tonight was not going to be an exception.

"Yeah Bri?" Nick Carter said coming up beside Brian, his blond hair still wet from the shower he had just taken.

"Did you tell Cassie and Nicky that they could stay up later than what me and Kev said?" asked Brian annoyed with Nicks' so called parenting skills.

"No... that was Kev that did. You told me not to tell Cass and Nicky what they can and can't do, so I haven't," Nick stated sharply. It hadn't been the first time Brian had gotten mad at him for doing something like that, but this time he hadn't done it.

"Cassie, Nicky, why did you lie?" Brian asked the kids, who were still hiding behind me.

"We’s sorry Daddy," Cassie said, grabbing onto Nicholas's hand.

"That's ok, as long as you never do it again? Understood?"

"Understood," Nicholas and Cassie said together.

"Um... hello?" I finally said to Nick and Brian. I had been sitting there for the last 30 minutes and not once did either of them, talk or even see me. Well, now they're gonna. "Remember me, the fan?"

~ Third Person Narrative ~

"Oh my.... I forgot this was the fan meet and greet room," Brian said, slapping his forehead. Standing in front of Karisma, sticking out his hand. "Hi, my name is Brian Littrell, this is Nick Carter and the two kids hiding behind you are Cassidy Nicole, my daughter, and Nicholas Thomas, my cousin Kevin's son."

"That's ok, I was just going to leave if this is a family matter," Karisma replied, standing up and shaking Brian's hand.

"No stay. Cassie, Nicky, out you two. Get mommy to put you to bed. Now go," Brian said releasing Karismas' hand and pointed to the door as a sign for the two to leave. "Now you know our names, what about yourself?"

"Karisma," she said as Cassie and Nicky ran out of the room, and ran straight into the dressing room.

"Very pretty name," Nick said shaking and kissing Karisma's hand. Brian just stared at the two, in awe of how Nick could flirt with her while his girlfriend he supposedly loved stood only 20 feet away. Shaking his head, Brian exited the room, wondering how Nick was going to get himself out of this mess if Brooke ever saw him.

"So, Karisma, where are you from?"

"Here," Karisma said, 'here' meaning Orlando.

"Ummm.. Nick," Howie said from the doorway. "Brooke is getting mad at you, better go see her," he quickly said and left.

"She can wait, I'm busy," he said to Karisma.

Just as Nick said this, AJ stuck his head in the door and walked over to Karisma who was still staring at Nick. Slapping Nick on the back, AJ then slapped Nick on his arm and told him to go see his girl.

"I will, I will," Nick said rubbing the spot where AJ had slapped him. Nobody knew what happened between closed doors with Nick and Brooke but Nick didn't want anyone finding out as to the teasing he would have to live with for the weeks and months to follow.

"NICK, NICK, NICKOLAS. GET YOUR BLOND ASS OUT HERE NOW, I'M SO PISSED AT YOU!" Brooke screamed causing Nick to tense up and try to hide away in the corner of the room.

"Guys, please don't tell her I'm here," Nick pleaded with AJ and Karisma.

"Ok, whatever you want Nicky," AJ said as Brooke appeared in the doorway, not looking all that happy. "What's wrong Brooke? You don't look too happy," AJ stated coldly. AJ didn't like Brooke all that much and the feeling towards him by Brooke was the same. Or so everyone thought. Brooke had a secret crush on AJ and was only using Nick to get him, but at the same time she found herself falling in love with Nick, but she had always reminded herself that AJ was the one she wanted, not Nick.

"Anyone seen my boyfriend?" Brooke asked, not taking notice that Nick was hiding behind the door, trying his best not to breathe very hard. Seeing a piece of blond hair fall from the corner of her eye, Brooke turned and saw Nick, trying harder to disappear behind the small door. "Awww, Nick, there you are. Come with me, we gotta talk."

"Have fun Nicky," AJ called out as Brooke dragged Nick out of the room. Nick looked back at Karisma and AJ, who both were laughing at little. But what they both didn't know was that when Nick came back, he would be even more sore than he was before he left.
