» CHAPTER SIX «

Jordan arrived at Nick's house around 8 in the evening. She was wearing the outfit she picked out earlier in the day with Brian's help. Before she got out of the car she checked herself in the mirror. After a few seconds she stepped out of the car and walked over to his front door. She was nervous. Her hand shook as she knocked on the door. She took a deep breath to calm herself down.

"Hey Jordan, come in," Nick said greeting her at the door.

"Hey," Jordan said stepping inside. "I brought Patch Adams," she said putting it down on the coffee table in the family room. Nick noticed Jordan's outfit. She never got dressed up whenever they got together to hang out. So why did she this time? Nick watched her as she stretched and sat down on the couch.

"You look beautiful," he blurted out surprising both Jordan and himself.

"Thanx," she said pushing her hair back behind her ear. Nick was still suprised at what came out of his mouth. He looked over at her again. She was. He'd been best friends with her ever since they were little kids and not until now had he noticed how much she was. He picked up the DVD, opened the box, and put it into the player. He turned on the tv and pressed play wtih the remote. He sat down next to Jordan. She smelled so sweet. He watched as she ran her fingers through her hair to get it out of her face. He was watching her, and she was. He couldn't see his life without her in it. Of course. He didn't want to see his life without her in it. Of course.

Jordan turned and looked at him. "Is there something on my face?" she said touching her face. Nick smiled. She was... beautiful.

"No, there's nothing on your face... yet."

"What?" Before Jordan could do anything Nick leaned in and kissed her. Their lips parted but they didn't. Nick held her in his arms as they watched the movie. Jordan fell asleep in his arms, and Nick... holding her.

Julia called Kevin and told him she needed to talk with him. Kevin was stunned when she called, much less wanted to talk to him. As soon as he hung up the phone he ran to his room, got changed, and rushed out the door. Once he was in his car he realized he forgot his keys. He got out of the car so fast he almost fell, but he continued to run to the door. He flew into the house grabbed his keys and ran back out. Ten minutes later he arrived at Julia's condo.

"Come in," Julia said opening the door after Kevin had rung the doorbell. It was the first time he had ever been in her condo. It was small but it was nice.

"You can sit down if you want," Julia said taking a seat herself. Kevin walked over and sat next to her. Julia felt a little uncomfortable but she didn't move.

"I'm glad you wanted to talk with me," Kevin said with a slight smile on his face. Julia let out a smile for a few seconds looking away.

"Look," he said taking her hand in his. "I know I was a real jerk before, but I've changed, and I'd like for you to give me a chance to prove it."

Julia raised her head to match his. "That's why I wanted to talk to you. I... I know I've been kinda hard on you and I just wanted to say that I want to give you..."she stopped. Her hand was still in his. She looked down at it and continued, "I want to give US a chance."

Kevin smiled and kissed her hand. "Thank you" he said. She made the right decision and she knew it. Kevin was a gentleman. A gentleman.
