Chapter Six
Later that night, I walked over to Nick's house. I was really nervous, because I sort of liked him. AJ had told me that they'd be at McDonalds so if I suddenly wanted them to come with us, all I had to do was show Nick where the McDonalds was. I'd heard enough of Alex's jokes about my outfit. I was wearing a bluish-purplish dress that went down almost to my knees, and AJ had curled my hair and put a couple of my mom's purple orchids in it. He'd made a couple jokes about my height, which I didn't really care since he was only about 3 to 5 inches taller than me. I wasn't wearing high heels, thank AJ. She let me borrow some of her dress sandals.
I rang the doorbell and Nick's mom answered the door. "Hi Sarah, come on in. We've heard a lot about you and your friends." I smiled, not knowing what to say, and walked in with a 'thanks.' Nick walked out to where we were standing, and said we could go now. He looked nice but he wasn't all dressed up. Just jeans and a Tommy Hilfiger shirt.
I really had no clue on where to take Nick first, so I just took him to the McDonalds right away. When we walked up to it, AJ and Alex were sitting outside. AJ gave me a look that said 'You're so pathetic.' I smiled and waved to her. They were sitting by a cardboard stand up of Ronald McDonald, which was torture for Alex because he hated clowns. Nick and I walked over to them as they stood up.
"So where'd she take you so far?" AJ asked, giving me a quick angry look.
"Just here," Nick answered. We showed him all around the small, boring town, and ended up at the movie theater.
"So Nick, whaddya wanna see?" Alex asked, looking at the listing of the movies that were playing.
"I don't really care," He replied, then turned to me. "What do you wanna see?"
      "I.. uh.. the.. umm.."
"The Haunting," AJ interrupted, so I wouldn't make a further fool out of myself. We bought our tickets, and they got some popcorn. When we got our seats, AJ and Alex took the ones directly behind us. Before the movie started I heard AJ go, "You did what?"
I listened to what they were saying and heard Alex say, "I told him she liked him. So what?"
"You never do that!" AJ said. "You never tell a guy that a girl likes them!" I turned around and glared at Alex. He just gave me an innocent smile and waved.
I turned back around and waited for the movie to start. "Popcorn?" Nick offered.

"No thanks, I hate that stuff." I said, giving him a small smile. He shrugged and put his arm on the back of my chair. I bit my bottom lip and thanked god that the movie was starting. When there was about 15 minutes left in the movie, I really wished AJ and Alex weren't sitting right behind us, because Nick kissed me. It was kinda funny because I heard Alex choke on a piece of popcorn.
