Chapter 2
"Mmm, this is good" I said as I took another bite of my quarter pounder.
"You
know it" Alex replied. He took a sip of his pop and asked, "I'm just
curious. Would you
by any chance happen to have a boyfriend?" I kind of choked on my fry. "Me?
No. I'm single
and stuff." He kind of blushed! "Me and my girlfriend broke up about a month
ago. She was
cheating on me with my best friend." My mouth dropped. How could someone
cheat on such a
sweet guy like Alex? "Oh man. I'm sorry." "Oh, don't be. I was gonna break
up with her
anyway. She didn't really... communicate with me. I've only known you for
about an hour
or two and me and you have talked more than me and her would have." I felt
good about that!
"I had a boyfriend. But he just... I dunno. But it didn't last. I miss him
and all. But I
can find better." He looked straight into my eyes. "You're a very be-..." He
cut himself off.
"What? What's wrong?" He stared past me. "Oh my gawd, no. Please no."
‘What's wrong?' I keep
saying to myself. I turn around and I saw this beautiful girl. I wouldn't
mind looking like her!
I looked at Alex who had put a napkin in front of his face. I kinda raised
my eye brow. "Uhh. Is
everything ok?" I asked. "It's her." he said, kinda shaky. "Her? Your
ex-girlfriend?" I knew he
meant her. "Yes. Is she looking?" He's kinda freaking out. It's kinda cute
too! "No. She just walked
out the door." He peeked over the napkin. "Thank gawd. She's like stalking
me or something." ‘Psshh,
with that face I'd stalk you too.' I thought to myself. He finished the rest
of his burger. "You ready
to head home?" I didn't want to, I wanted to stay here and talk to him for
hours, but I knew my mom would
get home from work soon and she would be mad if I wasn't home. "Yup. Let's
go."
