"Who was who?" Kevin asked.
"Well," Nick said, turning back to Kevin. "You were with us the whole time."
"Yeah," Brian interrupted. "You never told us you were going to Europe! We didn't even know you left!"
"Oh…" Kevin said. "I left right after Nick's birthday party last year."
"Kevin," I said. "How come you never told us?"
"But… I did." Kevin looked confused. "I told you like, a thousand times!" He looked behind him. "Nick …where's your door?"
"It's a long story." Brian answered for Nick.
"I've got all day if you don't mind telling me." Kevin suggested.
Nick grabbed the phone and started to dial. "Pizza," He said, smiling at me. Brian started telling Kevin about how AJ and Howie were trying to kill us for some unknown reason. After Nick ordered the pizza and hung up the phone, he started talking to me.
"You guys!" Christine yelled. "We're trying to tell Kev what happened!"
"Sorry," Nick smiled, sitting back.
Christine blushed. "Oh, it's okay Nick…"
Nick got up and headed for the front door. "I'm gonna go wait for the pizza."
Christine stood up too. "I… I need some fresh air…" She said, and followed Nick outside.
I just sat there for about ten minutes while Brian continued to explain what happened. Then I got up and walked to the door. When I came to the doorway, I stopped. Christine and Nick were kissing! "Nick!" I screamed, turning around. I ran upstairs to the bathroom and locked the door after me.
Nick banged on the door, yelling. "Sarah! I can explain!" I just ignored him.
Then I heard Brian say, "What's wrong with her?"
"I have no idea." Nick lied.
"Why don't you just tell him the truth?!" I screamed through the door. Then I waited and heard a door slam.
"Sarah… I'm sorry," Christine said.
I stood next to the door, "I hate you!"
"…Pizza's here…" She offered. I didn't answer her. "Sarah," She started. "I kissed him, he didn't kiss me back. Okay?" She waited for an answer.
I slowly opened the door and looked at her. Pushing past her, I walked downstairs. Kevin was sitting on the couch, eating pizza and watching television. I took a piece of pizza and sat on the other end of the couch. I ate one piece, grabbed another and went outside. Nick and Brian came down the stairs. "Where's Sarah?" Nick asked.
"I dunno," Kevin replied, then he thought for a minute. "I think she left." Nick ran out the door. I was sitting on the front steps where I'd caught Nick and Christine kissing.
"It wasn't my fault." He said. I got up and started walking down the driveway. Nick started running after me, so I ran to get away from him. The next thing I knew, he was chasing me down the road. "Sarah, it's not my fault. Why won't you forgive me?! I didn't do it on purpose!" He yelled. I just ignored him. "Ow! My leg!"
I turned around to see what was wrong with him. He was sitting on the ground, with his hands on his leg. I walked back to him. "Are you okay? Are you seriously hurt?" I asked, doubtingly.
He stood up and grabbed my arm. "No," He said, starting to drag me back to his house. Soon enough, we were back at the house. Nick picked up a note that was on the coffee table. It read:
Nick,
Brian and Christine and I went to the park
To shoot some hoops.
Seeya later. Kevin
"I can never read his handwriting." Nick said. He looked at the note again. "That doesn't look like Kevin's handwriting, though. That looks like,"
I grabbed the letter from his hand. "AJ's," I said, finishing his sentence. Nick walked past me and ran up the stairs. "Where're you going?" I called after him. He came back down with his car keys in his hand.
