INFORMATION / RULES

General: All listed recordings are original, manufactured silver CDs unless otherwise specified. With regard to duration/run times: some of the listed times are taken from reference books, others reflect my actual measurement. Important note: I trade only. I do not sell anything.
Ratings: I have not rated my recordings, simply because sound quality is so subjective and there are a myriad of written and web-based sources for such information. I do indicate SB or AUD source when it might not be obtainable via resort to the usual reference sources. Recommended: the book Led Zeppelin Live by Luis Rey; also, I suggest checking the following excellent websites for ratings and information: Trampled Underground, Tight But Loose, Pressed Led and AirRaid 2001.
Media: I generally use and prefer Kodak Gold/Silver and Mitsui Silver, but have other, cheaper brands that I can use if you don't have Kodaks or Mitsuis. Let's discuss first.
Ripping/Burning: I use EAC to extract/rip and CDRWin to burn.  ABOVE ALL ELSE, you MUST be able to burn (1) in DAO mode (so that there are not gaps between tracks - especially irritating with live performances where there is continuity between tracks) and (2) without producing the ticks or pops commonly found at index marks (however faint). THESE ERRORS ARE TOTALLY UNCOOL and if you send CDRs with these errors THEN YOU ARE ALSO TOTALLY UNCOOL.  Please give a quick listen to a representative sample of CDRs that you burn for me (or at least the index mark points)so that you can ensure that these two KEY requirments are satisfied; I will do no less. Also, burning at low speed can help if you are producing digital errors. Remember to not do anything else with your computer while you are burning; multi-tasking  generates burn errors.  So, turn off your screensaver and do not move the mouse.  Periodically (like every night), defragment your hard drive before burning to lessen the risk of digital errors and noise.  Sound confusing?  It was to me, too, until I starting reading the CDR FAQ at Fadden's CDR Page.
Sources/Compression: I will not accept CDRs burned from .wav files created from .mp3 files downloaded from the Internet.  Compression using the .mp3 method has a negative effect on sound quality. I will accept CDRs with .wav files created from .shn files, since .shn offers compression without loss of data/sound quality.
Mailing: In the case of CDRs, I mail without jewel cases and prefer likewise. Generally, I put the CDRs in paper envelopes, wrap them in bubble wrap and mail first class in bubble mailers.  In the case of original-manufactured, silver CDs, I mail in jewel cases and prefer likewise.  But, please insert a cotton puff or other padding so that the CD won't fall off its mounting and rattle around inside the jewel case.
Artwork: I am now avidly seeking artwork.  If I have the artwork, I will be happy to email it to you upon request and would appreciate if you would do likewise.  I cannot print and send artwork.  One invaluable online resource for artwork is Project Ballentine.  Do as thou wilt.
Other: PLEASE DO NOT WRITE ON THE COLORED SURFACE OF THE CDRs - ONLY WRITE ON THE CLEAR INNER CIRCLE OF THE CDRs. Some ink, over time, can degrade the quality of the media. Or, write on the envelope on or a sticky tab stuck to the wrapper (not stuck to the colored surface of the CDR).
