James Maxwell Collins, the mastermind behind EvE6's songs, was born on August 28, 1978. Max's dad used to play drums in a surf band and is now an A&R guy. Max has 3 brothers and 2 sisters. His family lived in Miami and New York before settling down in La Crescenta, California (a suburb of L.A.), when max was 11. There he met Jon Siebels (guitarist, background vocals of EvE6) in a 9th grade P.E. class. Both max and jon were into hardcore-punk music. They barely participated in gym class - instead they planned their careers as rock stars. Together Max and Jon were in the bands "Yakko" followed by "Eleventeen"
According to Nannie Collins max was planning his career as early as junior high. When they were juniors max and jon were signed to a major label debut. They were paid an "allowance" by the record company to finish high school. With a very low GPA (0.67) Max almost flunked out of high school, but somehow managed to graduate in 1997. "I always felt he knew what he was doing. We're all given talents, and my husband and I think we should help our kids find theirs, even if it's belly dancing." ~nannie collins.
Max is now 20 years old. WIth 19 year old Jon Siebels and 20 year old Tony Fagenson they are playing sold out shows across the country. Their hit single "Inside Out" has been on the charts for 40 weeks!
