My humans and I don't exactly see eye to eye on how mornings should be spent. I woke up this morning bright and early on top of the human kit's stomach. After breakfast (which sadly consisted of only that horrible "dry food"), I was feeling quite active, so I decided to share some of my energy with the human kit. I ran into her room and immediately noticed three books (I believe the humans refer to them as "Harry Potter") laying on the floor, simply daring me to attack them. Being the honorable kitten I am, I wasn't going to merely ignore the challenge. As I began to teach those books a lesson they wouldn't soon forget, I heard Caity slap her hand on her bed (obviously impressed at my handling of those troublesome books). Pleased that the human kit was awake, I did a flip and raced up and down her hallway. But Caity didn't seem to notice, and had gone back to sleep by the 100th time I ran around her room. Honestly, humans can be so weird sometime… especially the teenage kind.
In frusturation, I resumed my attack on the books, chewing the pages with determination (may I add that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban tasted particularly yummy). I don't know why humans keep books anyway.. all those pages with squigly lines- and I don't think they even know how to purr.
Caity immediately rushed out of her bed and stacked up the books, pulling me away. I figured that she had decided the books had been punished enough. "Honestly Lucy, you crazy cat…" What?! This was a bit of a shock; I don't think I'm crazy. Okay, so there was that one time those two times when I fell in the bath tub, but I still don't think that's cause for calling me crazy.
Anyway, Caity spent the whole morning it seemed like trying to ignore me and go back to sleep. I like to spend my mornings chasing dust bunnies and annoying the other cat, Izzy, but if Caity wanted to sleep, I'd at least keep her company. I curled up on her back and began to purr. Most humans are suckers for purring, although Caity usually seems to know all the feline tricks (I have yet to figure out how she knew my Jellicle name was Latruza.. How does she even know what a Jellicle name is??). But today she just reached her hand back and stroked me, saying, "Lucy Latruza, when will you learn that I just don't do mornings?" I smiled and kept purring, I knew she was going to want to sleep late. Which meant she'd miss breakfast. Which meant that she'd want to eat an extra-big lunch later. And mealtime is a time I look forward to sharing with my pet, especially if she's having a tuna sandwhich by chance.
