to Alissa before

This was the beginning of it all. The time before we knew who the little girl
inside of me was. It's funny that two strangers who knew nothing
of each other could be bound together forever by one thing.
Our daughter!
I moved to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in October of 2001 to be with my fiance, David Hamann.
We enjoyed our time together until February 23, 2002 when he shipped out on a 6 month
tour or "float" as they call it. Who knew when he came home that I would be 7 months pregnant
with a beautiful little baby girl. After his return, it took some time to get things back
like they were before he left. Things had finally gotten there, when, on November 11, 2002 our little
girl graced us with her presence. I went into labor at 2:40 AM and she was born at 7:09 PM
weighing  7 lbs 2 oz . She was 20 1/2 in long, but most importantly, she was here, healthy and beautiful.
We now live our days taking care of her and watching her grow. Everyday she learns something
new and fascinating (which this week is eatting her fists..LOL). I would never trade this experience for
the world. I am here to help guide her in becoming the person that she was meant to be, and it
is just an added bonus that we get to enjoy watching her personality grow day by day. David and I have
been truely blessed !

Alissa has grown into a happy baby with lots of love and affection to give. She offers many smiles to anyone who will look her way...she is working
on the words which still come out as beautiful sounds. We have been truely touched by her and she has changed our lives for the best.
We live for her now, and to help her succeed in life no matter what path she chooses to take. We will always be there to support her
whether she needs it or not. We hope to be able to offer her a good life, so
after talking, my husband and I decided that I will go back to
school to finish my 9 credits and get my diploma. While there, I plan on taking a medical secretary course, so I can have a good job while going through
college. We want our daughter to see that you can go back and make changes to some things to make your life better. We hope that being
raised the daughter of a United States Marine, that she will have access to a better future. Her father loves her dearly and wants to do
whatever he has to, to see that she has a great life. He is a great father and Marine, and I know that throughout his difficulties in the military, he will
strive to always do better for her.
