More information on 3d walkthrough animation...
What is the first step in creating an animation presentation?
The first step is to meet and discuss the scope of the project. The level of detail, size and time schedule are key points. A proposal of services is then prepared for client approval.
What information does the client need to provide?
Because this is a three dimensional service, the minimum requirement is plans and elevations, ideally in computer form (.dwg or .dxf). Section drawings are helpful. Your plans and elevations must be clearly marked showing the desired animation path, colours and materials.
The process and time scheduling.
Once the proposal is approved by the client and all possible project information has been received, an accurate time schedule will be developed, and work can begin:
- A storyboard is produced, detailing the animation path and key points within the animation.
- After the storyboard has been agreed upon, a 3d model is created. A concept animation is produced that allows the client to see the path of the animation and rough massing of the building(s). Changes to the animation path are made at this time, and a revised concept animation is produced for client review and approval.
- The final animation path is now set, and lighting and materials are applied to the model. You will be provided with still images at key points in the animation for your approval.
- The final phase involves the actual rendering process and post production. Post production is another term for final editing. This can include voiceovers, titles and music. Even live video can be incorporated into the animation at this time.
In what format will the final product be delivered?
The completed animation is deliverable on CDrom, DVD or VHS, which is included in the agreed price.
