In this same scene Romeo asks himself, " Did my heart not love til now?" He had immediately decided that he was in love with Juliet, however he had not even spoken to her before this point.
Another example, from a different type of media displaying love at first sight, the movies, is Jerry Maguire. The famous line " You had me at hello." shows a young woman's feelings towards a man she was in love with since she first saw him.
Walt Disney's first full length animation feature, Snow White, epitomizes love at first sight. Everyone thought that Snow white was dead when a handsome prince falls for her. Although it is true that they had previously met, he had loved her even then. Other Disney movies also exemplify love at first sight. For example, a handsome prince falls in love with Cinderella when he first sees her in her elegant and magical dress. In addition, Ariel, in The Little Mermaid, falls in love with Prince Eric at the instant she sees him.
A popular new pop song by Kylie Minogue is another example of love at first sight in the media. Her new song "Love at First Sight" is quickly climbing the charts with lyrics such as "...didn't know what to do, then there was you...it was love at first sight..."
In a personal interview a good friend of mine, Tyler Copley, tells his tale of his own love at first sight experience.
" I saw Shannon for the very first time at a party our Freshman year of college. From the first instant I saw her I knew that we had something between us. It's hard to explain, but all I can say is that I knew right away that she was the one for me. It took me a few minutes to get up enough courage to talk to her, but I knew that if I didn't I would regret it for the rest of my life. We've been dating three years now, and plan to get married next summer. "
Love at first sight can happen at anytime, in anyplace. You could be eating in a cafe, or sitting in class. It could be the middle of the night, or bright and early in the morning. It could happen at school or even while on vacation. Love at first sight could happen in China, or in Illinois. But, be aware, because love at first sight gives no warning.
