I think it’s pretty good:) Chapter 5 Liz awoke and rolled over to look at the clock.3 A.M. She sighed loudly and rolled back over. She stayed there for a few moments and when she realized she was not going back to sleep she debated her options. Then it hit her, where was the guy staying tonight. He had no money to pay for a malt, she knew he couldn't afford a hotel room. Was he staying with realatives, she had an overwhelming desire to see him. She took a deep breath and rolled out of bed. She threw on some jeans and a shirt. She was about to leave then thought better of it and went to put on some make-up. She smiled to herself, she never wore make-up. She walked onto her balcony and climbed down the ladder. She walked into the chilly streets of a deserted Roswell. She smiled and looked up at the sky. It was funny how she'd lived there her whole life and hadn't noticed how beautiful it was until now when no one was obstructing her view. She stuck her hands into her pockets and began to walk. She looked up awhile later and realized she was halfway across town. She looked down at her watch "4:15 A.M." She said softly to herself. She was about to turn and go home when she looked ahead and saw a shape on a bench in Atticus Park. She stood still for a minute.Who was that guy" She felt a strong wave of curiosity roll over her all of a sudden. She took a step forward. She didn't want to disturb this guy. What if he was some psycho, what would she do then? She knew she should leave now while she still could. She took a step forward. "What the hell is wrong with you" she said stareing down at her feet. "I said turn, not step forward." This time she took 2 steps forward. She worried her bottom lip with her teeth. "What harm would just looking do" She told herself and took another steady step forward. Before she knew it she was kneeling a few steps away from him when she realized he had on a hood. Now she knew this was some heavenly intervention trying to save her before she dug herself in to deep but she couldn't turn around. She had never felt so strongly than right now to do something. She rationalized again. "Just a little lift of the hood and a tiny peek" she murmered crawling toward the bundle. "No harm done." With a defining nod she decided to do it. She reached out and at that second the bulge shoot out a hand and grabbed her wrist. Liz didn't think she'd ever screamed so loud. --------------------------------------------------- "You shouldn't scare a person like that when they're sleeping." Liz stopped struggleing for a moment to comprehend what the voice was saying,it sounded familiar. The man rose his hand and shoved his hood back to reveal the smiling bright face of the guy who had come in earlier. "It's you" she said slightly mistified that she wasn’t dead yet. "The one and only." He totally bypassed her blank expression and grabbed her hand for a strong shake. "I'm Max. Max Guerin. |
