THE
VICTORY SUPER 13s LEAGUE |
-
A BRIEF REVIEW - |
|
As the 2001/2002 Season draws to close,
we can all look back with fond memories of what has hopefully been a
successful and constructive year for each of our respective squads. Success can and should be measured in a
number of different ways. Winning, as
we all say, is not everything but should be at least one cornerstone of our
Coaching ethos if we are to successfully maintain a competitive edge. The Victory Super 13s League has been a
resounding success for it has provided us all with a stimulus and has served
to maintain a healthy competitive interest/spirit outside of the usual round
of “friendlies”. It has also played a
small part in the formation of an Official Sussex RFU Under 13s League for
and from the 2002/2003 Season. A
legacy/contribution we should all be very proud of. |
|
Congratulations must go to all the
players for it is they who have provided us all with some tremendous
entertainment this year. The quality
of their rugby has been excellent and it is evident that each player’s desire
to continuously improve remains very, very strong indeed. |
|
The League Table has now been
up-dated, reflecting each Club’s final league position. |
Hearty congratulations must go to
Tunbridge Wells for a fine and well-deserved achievement, being “crowned” Winners
of the inaugural Victory Super 13s League.
This, despite being unable to complete one of their eight league
fixtures. Congratulations must also go
to Uckfield who, early on in the season, found it necessary to combine forces
with Crowborough’s Under 13s due to an unfortunate decline in their
respective playing squads. The
foresight of both Clubs has ensured that two sets of talented lads continue
to play our beloved game when they could have quite easily drifted away (a situation we are all too familiar with). |
|
A big thank you must also go to |
|
As we enter the Summer recess, we can
all now re-charge our batteries whilst looking forward to the start of a new
season ahead at Under 14s. |
|
Congratulations and well done to EVERYONE. |
