- T-T Tan
- Excellent aggression and powerful hitter but tends to be very streaky. Can be dismissed by pacemen bowling a good length.
- S M Qadri
- Inconsistent batsman who plays good drives and prefers the straight bat. Makes good knocks but sometimes caught out on the offside.
- N M Shehata
- Sacrifices technique for quick runs. Good against pace but often plays across the line and is dismissed by swinging deliveries.
- K H-K Ng
- Comfortable batting style but not really of the caliber of the top class batsman. Can hit 8s.
- T C-E Koh
- Infamous for using legs to stay in, but cannot hide from a weakness against offspin.
- C Liu
- Adequate defensive player but not really enough aggression to warrant a serious vote.
- W Y-J Lin
- Not a serious candidate, but did hit 2* once for victory. Notorious for being better in practice sessions.

- The best throwing arm in Super 4s, good quickness and generally safe catcher.
- N M Shehata
- Natural quickness and good catching reflexes occasionally undermined by a lack of interest.

- W Y-J Lin

- Has been known to let by a few fours and miss some simple catches, but generally will grab anything in reach.
- C Liu
- Basketball trained movement ensures good lateral quickness and sharp reflexes.
- T C-E Koh
- Aggressive fielder and always quick and alert.

- Not quite a fast bowler, but a useful utility bowler with good swinging and cutting deliveries.
- E M-T Lau
- Still a relative rookie, but has the potential to be amongst the best.
- S Aly
- Fast, fast, fast but not really any accuracy or variation.

|
Nominees

- Around the wicket deliveries with accuracy create a tougher angle for many batsmen.

- Great aggression coupled with arguably the best medium fast bowling in the competition.

Nominees
- W Y-J Lin's 2 not out for One Nation [Game 2]
- The second Super 4s match saw rabbit Will Lin bat out the required two runs for victory after openers
Teng Tan and Chaz Liu fell cheaply to Ad Korbel. Will also made five catches in a 10 innings marathon game.
- E L Squires' Hat-trick [Game 1]
- Still the only ever hat-trick bowled in Super 4s history; a truly legendary moment for this slow bowler.
- A M Korbel's 20 runs in an over off Mark [Game 3]
- When Ad Korbel slogged 20 runs including a big eight against Mark Novakovic's slow loopy lefthanded deliveries it
set a new mark that remained unbroken for 3 more games.
- T-T Tan's 30 runs in an over off Mus [Game 6]
- In excellent form, Teng Tan profited from some loose Mus Qadri deliveries to collect 30 in a single over,
smashing A M Korbel's previous record. His scores of 25* and 40* gave him a Super 4s best not out match aggregate
of 65*. He was however, dropped by Will Lin twice in the game.
- C Liu's 11 wicket haul [Game 2]
- Match figures of 11-57 in a ten innings match are still a Super 4s record and evidence that a good spinner
can wreak havoc on the Super 4s pitch.
- The Inaugural Penetrators' Victory [Game 4]
- A classic match which was the first to see cricket tactics come in to play, as the Penetrator lineup benefited
from its four man lineup. Dan Lau's only Super 4s game saw three competitive innings and despite Ad Korbel's
5/4 with 5 maidens the Penetrators triumphed in their debut match against the tough, but undermanned Yobs outfit
by just six runs.
- S M Qadri's 40th Super 4s wicket [Game 10]
- Snaring his 40th wicket in a fine bowling performance that included his 2nd ever maiden, Mus Qadri finished
the '97/8 season in style. That match also saw the unveiling of the new classy rebounding Gray-Nicholls stumps.
- The Penetrators defeat the Yobs [Game 7]
- A rematch between two very competitive teams saw Mus Qadri join the Yobs to offset the liabilities of Vic Ding
and Mark Novakovic. The perennial Yobs captain Mena Shehata played well throughout but with Mus Qadri faltering
at the pitch and with Ad Korbel's quick singles nudged to Vic Ding and resulting overthrows, the Penetrators
defended their title as the best Super 4s team with a 133-91 scoreline.

Super 4s Stickiest Moments
|
|
|
Nominees
- Tommy Koh's leg play
- Will Lin and Ad Korbel were both very annoyed at the leg play of 'slogger' Tommy Koh. His consistent blocking
out of balls with a meaty gastrocnemius was finally ended when he tried to hit a Will Lin delivery. He was
clean bowled on leg stump.
- Will Lin's disputed extra
- Mus Qadri and Will Lin argued briefly over an extra allegedly conceded by the pace bowler. The extra stood
against Will Lin and to date remains the hottest ever contested trivial statistic.
- Vic Ding's apparent run out
- Will Lin was sure he had run out Vic Ding, but the batsman was unconvinced. Other fielders were unsure and
after Will Lin expressed further dissatisfaction, Vic Ding gave up his wicket. Mus Qadri joined Will Lin in
refusing the gallant offer, but Vic Ding has since only played one other Super 4s match.
- Ad Korbel's dismissal from a no ball from Will
- A high full toss that, if left, would almost certainly have been called a no ball was nicked by Ad Korbel.
It proceeded to hit the 'caught behind' wall, the excited fielders went up and the wicket stood. Ad Korbel was
understandably not impressed.
- Ad Korbel's dismissal from a no ball from Mena
- Just one incident of the infamous Lane Cove Public School match in which Ad Korbel tried to pull a high
full toss from Mena Shehata. Teng Tan took the catch and despite onside fielder Will Lin's good view of what
he saw as the acceptable height of the delivery, Ad Korbel was not a happy pappy.
- Ad Korbel's dummy spit
- The first such incident in a Super 4s match, Ad Korbel was furious after getting a bronze duck in an impromptu
start to the LCPS match. The dismissed batsman stormed off the ground, collecting his keys and walking away
before the stunned Super 4s elite.
- Teng Tan vs Mus Qadri racial sledging
- Racial jokes had always been a valued part of the Super 4s players but Teng Tan chose a bad day to make his
usual calls that had recently increased in directness and intensity. Mus Qadri replied with an unrepeatable
outburst after previously having been bagged by Ad Korbel and even Will Lin. One of the sourest moments in
Super 4s history that preceded the LCPS match.
