Match Report
A blistering summer's day heralded a much anticipated cricketing clash between the
elite of the Super 4s players. With most of the players arriving at 11am, warming up
in the practice nets lasted about an hour before the pitch was readied and the field was set.
A mediocre yet jovial crowd of yellow shirted West Pymble council workers watched as average
bowling met with average batting and even more average fielding. Several more catches were
dropped than taken, although Teng Tan and Ad Korbel defied the trend to both take good catches.
However, the hot weather quickly caught up with the players and the match was abandoned after lunch
which was taken at about 1:30. After some ordinary McDonald's burgers and fries, soccer and more net
practice concluded the day's sporting activites.
Johann Rayappu's crafty slow ball which dismissed slogger Ad Korbel, his
effortless legside shots and steady wicketkeeping earned him man of the match honours.
