The Great Wall
These pics are from the Great Wall (obviously). It was the total highlight of my trip. It was the single most amazing thing I've ever stood on. The view is priceless. Since it was August when we were there, the normally difficult climb up, was heightened by the heat. But, my legs, grizzled by months in the Hong Kong sweat-filled heat, took to the climb rather well. And when it got tough, my utter curiosity drove my will to take more and more steps upward.
The bottom pic in the left hand column is quite funny. There's a famous quote from Chairman Mao about how if you visit Beijing and do not climb The Great Wall, then you are not a man. Well, there I am with my friend Jake posing in all my manhood just for Chairman Mao.
I could have spent all day climbing that wall; and would not have worried about missing the other sights on my tour for the day.
