E. B. E.

"Somewhere Edward Barry Edison is smiling..."
My friend, Jame, told me to review Eve, because we like that one, but I grabbed the wrong DVD, so I am watching E. B. E. instead. Hey, it's close. Only one letter off! And that letter even SOUNDS like the right letter!
It opens with a guy flying a military fighter plane over Iraq and then he sees a zippy little light. He freaks out. Hello? It was Tinkerbell! Don't they have Peter Pan in the Middle East? Just think happy thoughts and you'll be ok, but do you think that he would listen to me? No, so he crashes and burns.
Ha! Goody's Headache Powder! That's funny. It sounds straight from O Brother, Where Art Thou?!
We see this truck driver see a UFO and so he gets out of his truck and looks at it. Then something in the back of his truck starts shaking and so he grabs a shot gun and fires at it. This would only happen in America...in the south.
Scully thinks that he was firing at a mountain lion. Yes, I'm sure that's the logical explaination. Couldn't she have said that it was maybe some guy who hid on the truck for a ride? I'm sure that his shipping company sends out a lot of mountain lions this time of year. [If you are ever attacked by a mountain lion, you are supposed to hold out the edges of your coat to make yourself appear larger...or so you look like a complete idiot.]
Note the lady who borrows her pen. She has a pen in the other hand when Mulder and Scully leave the rental counter. Oooo! Nice little detail for repeated viewings of this episode since it turns out that the pen is bugged.
Awesome. They mentioned Little Rock's military base. Yeah, alright, I realize that they don't fly stealths or anything, just SHUT UP ALREADY! [that was more for my mental health than anything, since those who know what I'm talking about wouldn't see this]
Does anyone else wonder why Mulder has never been evicted from his apartment? There have been so many break-ins and shootings, etc from Mulder's presence, it's got to be bad for the land lord. The reason I mention this is because Deep Throat cut the main breaker in Mulder's apartment, which I find a bit much. Is it really that important that he not have the lights on? Couldn't he just unplug everything and tape the light switches?
I like Mulder's meeting with Deep Throat at the aquarium. Not that I really notice anything they are saying because I'm too busy marveling at the black-tip sharks, which are my personal favorite.
Hey! Ok, that was hitting below the belt, Mulder! Iran-Contra was in his list of conspiracies. Maybe you could say it was a scandal, but RONALD REAGAN WAS NOT INVOLVED!!!!
Overall, this episode is more entertaining than I always remember it to be. It does introduce the Lone Gunmen. The main reason why I don't like watching E.B.E. is because of the pace. It plays very, very slowly, and not in a good way.
