Per Manum

"I'm just way to disillusioned by this episode to come up with a witty comment."

I am writing this on the back of an old chemistry worksheet. I just thought that you all should know that, despite its irrelevance.

I must say that I am far from impressed by this episode. Really, what was the point? It didn't really accomplish anything. It didn't even tell the viewer much. Well, it did tell me one thing...or maybe reassure me of it. Scully is an idiot. [don't shoot!] I mean, why would she want a baby? It's not like she's got a normal 9-to-5 job that would permit her to be a single parent. She's barely ever in the same city from week to week. Is she going to lug the kid into morgues with her? Change its Huggies on the autopsy table?

The only logical reason for Scully to have a baby is just because they told her she wouldn't be able to. There is a reason why they wouldn't let her adopt Emily. She would not be a good mother. It's impossible with the kind of job she has. She obviously doesn't have much concern for the pregnancy. If she did, she wouldn't have taken so many unnecessary risks. If she would have told Doggett about this whole pregnancy thing, then he could have gone with her to the hospital in this episode. Then, when it's revealed that *gasp* they want to take away the babies, Johnny could have saved the day...again.

Another gripe with Scully in Per Manum. She's delivered a baby before (Agua Mala), she could have delivered the squirmy, little guy herself. Actually, she could have done the ultrasound herself, too, couldn't she?

In the words of my chemistry teacher, "Dumb, dumb, dumb."
