A Saiya-Jin does not know a partner in the way we do. They choose a mate for life. Their minds connect during a complicated process or after spending a lot of time with each other. he special bond that they form will last for a lifetime and can sometimes develope into a psychic bond, although this is usually only seen in the first class and the upperlevel of the second class. Once a connected mind dies, the other mind is forcely torn from the bond, leaving the Saiya-Jin in much pain. Depending on how well this Saiya-Jin can cope with the death of its mate, will determine if he can get over it, or die himself A Saiya-Jin is very protective, yet aggressive towards their mate.
However, bonding like this, does not mean that the Saiya-Jin only stick to one partner. It is a widely spread fact that the strongest of the Saiya-Jin must impregnate the stronger females so that new and more powerful offspring is created.
Female Saiya-Jin share an extremely strong and protective bond with their children. They will not allow anyone else to near them, unless they are absolutely certain they can be trusted. The female's strength will raise incredibly when she sees her child in danger or when she suspects danger is around. Their power won't go down, but stay at this level. This is why Saiya-Jin females stand in high regard in all the social classes.
