Venturi
Back to Manufactur Page
Introduction Venturi is a tiny French company founded in the mid-80 is. Its first product, the MVS mid-engined sports car, was based on the engines and running gears of Renault Alpine GTA. Business remained to be difficult during these years but MVS was still evolving gradually into 300 Atlantique and eventually became the 400-horsepower 400GT. Despite of the deep involvement in Le Mans, Venturi failed to win recognition as an alternative to Porsche and Ferrari. (in fact, the racing results were not very successful) It went into financial trouble in 1995 and had to be rescued by the investment from a Thai group. Operation resumed in 1997. The 300 Atlantique was updated with more attention to build quality and refinement.

Since the death of Alpine in 1995, Venturi became the last French sports car specialist. How long could it survive ?
