Don't memorize, learn Morse Code ("CW") by ear!

Using MorseApple

  1. Type text, press "Enter"
  2. Press "Enter" again to replay
  3. Or, Click to replay
  4. Press "Escape" to stop
    Stopping the audio depends on your system, sometimes it's slow to stop

Control keys
Control-S Save current CW as an AU sound file (Desktop only, no WAV or AIFF available now).
Control-L Slow (or Normal): more delay between characters and words.
Control-F Fast (or Normal): less delay between characters and words.
Control-V Show software version
Control-Q Quit (exit) politely

Using the Applet in your webpage

  1. Copy the applet JAR file to your website
     
  2. HTML Example, as above:
    <applet code="g4zfe.morse" width="200" height="60" archive="morse.jar">
      <param name="cq" value="morsapl">
    </applet>
    

Works with any Java 1.1.5 or later, available for many computer operating systems

Notes

  1. With Java 1.1 runtimes, MorseApple displays each character as it's heard (in the browser). On Java 1.2 ("Java2") it displays all characters, and then sends CW.
