Speedway Control Board Referee: Mr P Ackroyd

I arrived for the meeting at 7:20 and was greeted by the news that because of some clever person scaling a pylon
next to the M6 with the intent of finishing himself off, Glasgow had only 3 riders in the pits (Stuart Swales,
Mark and Scott Courtney) and the meeting was being held up until 8:00pm to give the others time to arrive, when
the meeting went ahead at that time Glasgow were up to 5, with the arrival of James Grieves and Emiliano Sanchez.
This forced a swith in their riding order, as James Grieves was moved to No. 1 to give Les and Aiden Collins more
time to arrive. They did arive during Heat 4, causing them to both miss a ride each, but their arrival did little
to help the Tigers as the Robins still managed to bang in 8 5-1's after their arrival!

Heat Details
1. Claus Kristensen(67.34) Martin Dixon, James Grieves, Stuart Swales. 5-1, 5-1
Clausy from the gate, Grieves hold second from a marauding Mad Dog, who tries every trick in the book to pass the Scot,
on turn two of the third lap Dicko locked up sharply to try to get underneath him and nearly caused Swales to clatter
into him, on the second bend of the last lap, he does exactly the same but catches some dirt and flies round the outside
of Grieves on the back straight to follow home Clausy for a 5-1, great race by Dicko.
2. Mark Steel(67.96) Ritchie Hawkins, Scott Courtney, 3 riders only. 5-1, 10-2
Aiden Collins has not arrived, so Scott takes on the Robins himself. Oh dear.
3. Alan Mogridge(67.14) Oliver Allen, Mark Courtney, Emiliano Sanchez. 5-1, 15-3
Courtney gates between the Robins but by turn two the race has been decided, with one going either side.
4. Paul Fry(67.74) Ritchie Hawkins, Scott Courtney, 3 riders only. 5-1, 20-4
No Les Collins, so poor Scott is on his own again. Oh dear oh dear.
5. Alan Mogridge(67.05) Oliver Allen, James Grieves, Stuart Swales. 5-1, 25-5
There is no further point in fibbing, this was getting silly. Tapes to flag with a massive distance between Robins and Tigers.
6. Claus Kristensen(69.43) Martin Dixon, Les Collins, Aiden Collins(ret) 5-1, 30-6
Tapes to Flag again, Collins junior stopped just before the line.
7. Paul Fry(67.95) Mark Courtney, Mark Steel, Emiliano Sanchez. 4-2, 34-8
Steel gated but messed up on the first bend and scraped the fence, then set about on the chase, picking off Sanchez on lap 2 and
getting close to Courtney. Was visibly unhappy with himself.
8. Martin Dixon(68.49) Stuart Swales, Les Collins, Ritchie Hawkins. 3-3, 37-11
Tapes to flag, Ritchie was on Collins exhaust from the gate but couldnt find a way past.
9. Oliver Allen(69.46) Alan Mogridge, Les Collins, Aiden Collins. 5-1, 42-12
Normal service resumes as Moggo and Olly give Les Collins a pasting, Collins junior again stops before the line, has not yet finished a race!
10. Claus Kristensen(70.65) Martin Dixon, Mark Courtney, Emiliano Sanchez. 5-1, 47-13
Mad Dog is after his first Max in Swindon colours, comes out of the gate third behind Courtney but there was never any danger as Dicko sweeps
past him on turn two of lap two, joining Clausy up front for Swindons 8th 5-1 in 10 Heats.
11. Paul Fry(70.24) Mark Steel, James Grieves, Staurt Swales. 5-1, 52-14
Tapes to Flag.
12. Mark Courtney(70.96) Oliver Allen, Ritchie Hawkins, Aiden Collins. 3-3, 55-17
I nearly choked on my Fosters for this one, Courtney popped out of the gate and won it by a mile!! AND Aiden Collins finished a race!! It was too much
excitement for me!!
13. Claus Kristensen(71.08) Paul Fry, Les Collins, Stuart Swales. 5-1, 60-18
Tapes to Flag though Collins mounts a challenge and Clausy tries to provide a bit of entertainment by locking up in front of Fryer, though Fry actually
has enough time to tell him to get going, its getting that bad!
14. Alan Mogridge(69.59) Mark Steel, Mark Courtney, Scott Courtney. 5-1, 65-19
Ouch! The fans cant believe it as the Robins just wipe out the Glasgow duo to put us in reach of 70!
15. Claus Kristensen(69.39) Paul Fry, Mark Courtney, Les Collins(ef). 5-1, 70-20
In with a chance of 70 I said, was there really any doubt? Tapes to Flag to crown Swindons biggest win ever(or so Im told) Oh yeah, and Les Collins had an ef
whilst far back in last.

It was a very muggy night at the Abbey but that didnt bother many as by Heat 6 they just couldnt believe what was going on!!
Processional for most of the races though Mad Dog was again good for entertainment and he got his first ever Swindon maximum, to the delight of the crowd.
Clausy Fryer and Moggo also banged in maximums, Olly just missed out and Swindons young reserves weighed in with Paid 18 point to their Glasgow counterparts 2.
Glasgow were abysmal an that is even with their problems, they were just outclassed. Swindon have now ammased 138 points in their last 2 home meetings, Im
starting to feel like an Exeter fan!!
