Graeme Gordon won the toss and took gates 1 and 3.

Heat Details.
1.Chris Harris(67.77) Claus Kristensen, Brett Woodifield, Alan Mogridge(fr)
2-4, 2-4
Kristensen from the gate, Moggo misses it and can't catch, overcooks and falls on the third
lap but remounts quickly to finish the race. On the final bend a visibly tiring Kristensen
drifts wide and allows Harris through for the win.
2.Mark Steel(67.36) Gary Phelps, Ritchie Hawkins(15 metres) Simon Phillips - rerun
4-2, 6-6
First run Ritchie does his party piece of rolling at the start, touches the tapes and gets
put 15 yards back, catches Phillips after less than a lap on turn 3 but can't make an
impression on Phelps who is tucked behind Steeler who streaks away for victory in the fastest
time of the night.
3.Alan Mogridge(67.58) Martin Dixon, Steffen Mell, Graeme Gordon.
5-1, 11-7
Easy 5-1 from the gate.
4.Simon Phillips(68.73) Pavel Ondrasik, Ritchie Hawkins, Paul Fry(fx) - rerun
1-5, 12-12
First run Fryer is out of the gate but taken wide by the other 3 on the 1/2nd turns, has no
room and goes down on the back straight, rather harshly excluded I thought it should have
all four back but never mind, in the re-run its Ritchie from the gate until Phillips ditches
his in the second bend fence on lap 2, after that its processional.
5.Brett Woodifield(awarded) Chris Harris, Martin Dixon, Alan Mogridge(fx)
1-5, 13-17
Both the Robins miss the gate, Moggo is chasing hard until Mad Dog cuts right in front of
him coming out of the second bend on lap 3, Moggo then tries to go up the inside of his and
start chasing again but loses it on the pits turn and goes straight into the fence, the
awarded 5-1 puts Trelawny 4 up, they had never led an away match before today.
6.Mark Steel(67.80) Pavel Ondrasik, Claus Kristensen, Gary Phelps
4-2, 17-19
Steel looks great and wins from the tapes, Kristensen is obviously not fit and stuggles to
beat Phelpsy over the line.
7.Ritchie Hawkins(68.89) Paul Fry, Graeme Gordon, Steffen Mell
5-1, 22-20
Steel gets to the start gate but something goes wrong with his bike which he tries in vain
to have sorted before the expiry of the 2 minute allowance. Replacement Ritchie makes a
cracking gate (without rolling!!) and Fryer, after he and Mell lifted badly at the start
shepards him home, though there is no real need as Mell and Gordon look awful.
8.Brett Woodifield(67.96) Martin Dixon, Mark Steel, Simon Phillips
3-3, 25-23
Dixon and Steel outgate Woodifield but the Aussie flies up the inside of the pair of them on
the back straight for the win. Phillips atthe back looks like a novice again, how he won
heat 4 I'll never know!
9.Alan Mogridge(68.36) Pavel Ondrasik, Martin Dixon, Gary Phelps
4-2, 29-25
Tapes to flag though Dicko is also nearly caught by Phelps.
10.Graeme Gordon(68.74) Claus Kristensen, Ritchie Hawkins, Steffen Mell, Mark Steel(ex/tapes) - rerun
3-3, 32-28
First run Steeler goes through the tapes and is replaced by Ritchie. In the rerun the Robins
fans suffer from shell shock, yes Graeme Gordon wins a race, tragic I know. But even Mell
can't get close to a clearly shot away Kristensen and a rather disappointing Ritchie!
11.Paul Fry(69.05) Mark Steel, Chris Harris, Brett Woodifield
5-1, 37-29
Fryer off of gate 2 pulls out of the second bend ahead, Steeler gets ahead of Harris and
pulls level on the outside of Woodifield but has the speed advantage going into turn 3 and
pulls in front of him and shuts the gate on him, causing the Aussie to drift wide and
effectively ending the race. Harris passes him on the final turn.
12.Pavel Ondrasik(68.48) Martin Dixon, Brett Woodifield, Ritchie Hawkins
2-4, 39-33
Tapes to flag. Ondasik looking very impressive.
13.Paul Fry(awarded) Chris Harris, Claus Kristensen, Pavel Ondrasik(fx)
4-2, 43-35
Fry from the gate, Trelawny are sitting on a 3-3 when on the third lap, 2nd turn Ondrasiks
bike just seems to sieze up and almost stop dead, throws him off nastily onto his side,
walks back to the pits after treatment, the race is awarded, Kristensen gets a lucky point,
he looks not too bad but he was tired after his first race, we can't have him like this again
on Sunday against Kessler/Stead/Wilson in the cup final.
14.Alan Mogridge(69.11) Graeme Gordon, Chris Harris, Mark Steel(15 metres) - rerun
3-3, 46-38
Steeler blast through the tapes for the second time this evening, he goes from 15 metres but
can't get close to Gordon or tac sub Harris. Moggo hammers the pair of them.
15.Paul Fry(69.68) Alan Mogridge, Chris Harris, Brett Woodifield
5-1, 51-39
From the gate thank god, puts us over 50.

Good god, Trelawny ran us close, I was glad I was out for a drink after coz I needed it, we
have picked up this irritating habit of throwing away points, the last couple of weeks we
have been OK with home matches against Glasgow, Berwick and Trelawny but if it continues
against Sheffield in the cup final Sunday we are going to be made to pay. For the Robins
Clausy was not fit, Mad Dog rode very badly, Moggo was blighted by two bad rides, Fryer got
and unlucky exclusion and the reserves, though sharing paid 18 points could have had more,
especially Steeler who twice annahialated the tapes. Trelawny put up a good fight and Ondrasik
was especially impressive and Harris and Woodifield were good value, Phillips rather suspiciously
took the win in heat 4, whilst looking like he'd never been on a bike before in his other 2
heats.. All in all we must improve on this astronomically if we are to challenge Sheffield over
2 legs of the PNT Final and I'm not sure it's a good idea for Clausy to ride, perhaps a guest
might be a more sensible solution? Just my opinion.
