Heat Details
1. Alan Mogridge (68.02) Ray Morton, Martin Dixon, Scott Swain
Mogridge gated well and flew past Morton on the back straight. Dixon fought past Swain.
2. (re-run)Mark Steel (69.12) Ritchie Hawkins, Glen Phillips(exc lapped) Cristophe Cayre(exc/unfair riding)
In the first run the Isle of Wight duo gated ahead of the Robins and as Steel tried an outside pass on turn 3/4, Cayre lost control and put Steel in the fence.
In the Re-Run Steel went out in front wth Hawkins chasing Phillips, but Phillips overcooked on turn 3 and fell, he remounted but could not get his bike going again and he was duly lapped for a Robins 5-0.
3. Oliver Allen (68.90) Danny Bird, Claus Kristensen, Davey Watt
The Robins duo gated well and led but on lap 2 Bird caught and passed Kristensen but Allen was away for the win.
4. Paul Fry (70.12) Adam Sheilds, Ritchie Hawkins, Cristophe Cayre
Tapes to flag procession.
5. Oliver Allen (68.40) Ray Morton, Claus Kristensen, Scott Swain
Olly flew away from the tapes, leaving Morton and Clausy to battle it out, Morton came out on top.
6. Alan Mogridge (68.71) Martin Dixon, Adam Sheilds, Glen Phillips
Martin Dixon flew past Adam Sheilds on outside on the fourth turn of lap 2 in a great passing move.
7. (2nd re-run)Paul Fry (68.99) Danny Bird, Davey Watt, Mark Steel
This was re-run twice, due to two unsatisfactory starts, the first by Fry, the second by Steel, when it finally got underway they came out of turn 2 in the order they finished.
8. Martin Dixon (69.02) Ray Morton, Scott Swain, Ritchie Hawkins
Dixon from the gate, Hawkins got VERY close to Swain, but not close enough, chased hard.
9. Oliver Allen (68.74) Mark Steel, Adam Sheilds, Glen Phillips
Sheilds chases hard but the Robins duo hold firm.
10. (re-run)Martin Dixon (69.39) Danny Bird, Davey Watt, Alan Mogridge(f/ex)
Mogridge is winning by a streak when he falls on turn 1 of lap 3, Dixon blasts out of the gate in the re-run.
11. Paul Fry (69.02) Scott Swain, Mark Steel, Ray Morton(ret)
The Islanders outgate the Robins and are away, Fry comes from last past Steel, catches up for a lap them blast round the outside of Swain on turn 3 of lap 3 and straight alongside Morton on turn 4,
they touch and Fry steams away with Morton stopping, allowing Swain and Steel through, Fry completes the race to a massive ovation from the Swindon crowd. Ride of the night by a mile.
12. Danny Bird (69.65) Ritchie Hawkins, Davey Watt (3 riders only)
Claus Kristensen has withdrawn from the meeting with flu, Hawkins on his own flies from the gate and away into the lead, the tenacious Danny Bird comes up the inside of him and puts him in the fence in a move that would have got him excluded had Hawkins
gone down, but to his credit he stayed on and chased hard but couldn't catch up. Watt was not good.
13. Paul Fry (68.96) Alan Mogridge, Adam Sheilds, Glen Phillips
Phillips comes in for Morton who is experiencing engine problems. Fry and Mogridge gate and are away, Sheilds pushes hard but Fry nearly put him the fence then pulled away. Mogridge slows down to let Fry through for the win.
14. Oliver Allen (69.21) Mark Steel, Danny Bird, Cristophe Cayre
The same duo that scored a 5-1 in heat 9 pulled it off again, with Allan away into the distance again for his 4th straight win, Steel battled hard to keep Bird at bay, which he succeeded in doing.
15. Paul Fry (69.30) Danny Bird, Oliver Allen, Adam Sheilds
Fry gets away from the gate but has to keep Bird at bay, whilst Allen misses the gate and can't catch Bird, spoiling his maximum chances. Fry wins to score an awesome maximum.

A very cold night saw a nice dry track host some quality racing, though the Islanders were never at the races. Fry was brilliant, Mogridge would have had a maximum but for his heat 10 fall, Allen was brilliant and it was a shame he missed out on a five ride maximum. Dixon and Steel
returned paid 10 each and Ritchie Hawkins looked great again for his paid 6. Very good team performance.
The Islanders were, with the exception of Danny Bird, were very disappointing and can only get better, with Davey Watt and Cristophe Cayre looking very disappointing in their first matches a Premier League level and ay Morton looked out of sorts and experienced mechanical problems.
On the whole an entertaining match with some good racing. Swindon will be hard to beat around the Abbey this year.
