Jetstream G-BRGN is currently in for maintenance with Air Atlantique,it arrived from Cranfield. N2RK Electra is also currently being worked on to get her flying, this is one of the ex Alaskan aircraft, this has also been re- registered with the FAA with a company address in Derby,UK. G-SIXC DC-6 arrived safely back from Holland 28-02-2004 following her two engined emergency landing there last week. LN-FOL Electra now looks a sorry state and is in the final phases of scrapping Northside.

News from our friend Lance:

Right now N308D is here in Missoula, we flew it here in December, the plane is in great shape, we pulled the #3 and 4 props and sent them to Tuscon to ferry N429NA here hopefully next month. 429 was stripped of a lot of stuff to support 308 but we have all the stuff, we just need to put it together which is what we are doing now. our future plans right now are to tank both planes in the future. We are putting on hold the Neptune turbine program for several reasons. The Japanese P-2s were new build but they shortened the airframe and reduced the gross weight, so we could not use them or their engines as they are only rated at a little over 2000 shp. We will be updating our web site in the next couple of monthes and plan to have a photo section showing our progress on the Electra's so you can check out our progress their.

The Reeve L188's are both still NOT flying, however, they have both been re-registered as follows:- N9744C is now N2RK N178RV is now N4HG RK has now got the title's 'Reeve Illusion', and was supposed to fly in the recent Coventry Airshow, but the FAA decided it couldn't be done for one reason or another. HG is being used as a spares machine at the moment, but it may well still fly again, you never know. Cheers, Paul.

Sad news in the aviaton world. It was reported that on Thursday July 17th an Air Spray L-188 Electra crashed in British Columbia: Several small forest fires had erupted near Cranbrook and the Air Spray Electra was called in to fight the fires. Just after dumping its load of flame-retardant materials, the aircraft crashed into the forest. The aircraft involved reportedly was Tanker 86 - C-GFQA. God bless the crew and their families.

Reported by Air Spray: Air Spray is proud to announce that our eighth L-188 Electra has finally found it's way home from South Africa. The crew of Captain Neal Fix, Co-Pilot Carl Waymann, Flight Engineer Anthony Blake and Navigator Dennis Christian, made there way from Johannesburg South Africa. They made there way over 8470 Nautical Miles and made 6 stops along the journey. Also flying over the North Atlantic Ocean with a quick stop in the Azores Islands. It was, as Co-Pilot Carl Waymann said "uneventful," which is always a good thing. They left Johannesburg Nov. 20, 2002 and arrived in Red Deer Nov. 27, 2002. Air Spray has acquired a Ex-Renown Aviation Electra N351Q stored in Roswell, New Mexico for many years.

The Midland Air Museum just purchased a L-188 Electra simulator. The news came from Ashley Gardiner from Coventry. The site for the museum can be seen at:

Nicolai Musante reported (unconfirmed) from Aviation Letter #430 that both Electras HR-AMM and N351Q have been "sold to Air Spray for firefighting".

Today Sep, 04 at 06:00 N178RV departed ANC to CVT closing another era of L-188 operations in the World. From now on most of the L-188 are cargo operators in Europe. Photo of final salute form RAA Mechanic Edward Quick to Air Atlantic crew. N178RV L188 enroute ANC-YYR-CVT ETA 0900 Thu.

RAA L-188 ELECTRAS were sold to Aeroleases Limited which is a subsidiary of the Air Atlantique Group, which includes Atlantic Airlines. S/N 1140, N9744C has already been delivered to Coventry England and S/N 2010, N178RV will be ferried on September 4th. Both aircraft will be entering service with Atlantic Airlines as soon as the CAA modifications and cockpit standardization items are completed. Unfortunately, I believe that at least one of the aircraft will remain in Combi configuration as Atlantic Airlines sees a need for this type of service. This, of course, will all be dependent upon the CAA approving Combi operation.

With the sale of the two Electras Reeve has no other aircraft to sell. They are in the process of leasing their hanger and closing down the balance of their offices.

N1968R is not yet certified as an Airtanker. While my visit to Red Deer in April she was parked outside missing vital parts. About a month ago it was noted by Michael Prophet inside the big Air Spray hangar undergoing attention. I guess it will be in action next season... Nicolai Musante

Ola Carlsson repoted that Falcon Air just leased G-LOFB from AAG. The aircraft was seeing at ARN last JUl/05.

Unofficial reports shows that Amerer Air is selling both OE-ILA, OE-ILB in order to acquire other cargo aircrafts such as DC-8.

Sad news... G-CHNX did not scape... The plane was reported being scrapped at Bournemouth - Int. (Hurn) (BOH / EGHH) UK - England, Feb 28, 2002.

Since July, GeoPost's irish Subsidiary, Interlink Ireland, has chartered a Lockheed Electra G-LOFE from Atlantic Airlines to operate four nights a week (Monday through Thursday) between Coventry and Belfast.

G-FIZU was returned to Atlantic and then leased back for a short period with our own crews to allow B737 330 QC TF ELR to be modified to allow carriage of 142 passengers. G-CEXS has just gone through a check G-CHNX is in the hangar now and we will continue to operate them until the next check cycle comes around we own them both so if they were to go to Atlantic the would have to be sold not returned.

New on the site by Gene Buckle pictures of the last Electra simulator in the World in Seattle, WA.

A Lockheed Electra (G-LOFD) crashed at Glasgow Prestwick while on a training flight on Wednesday evening (21Mar). Crew is ok
