June fifth was the birthday of Nikko McBrain. He celebrated his birthday at THE KELSEY CLUB by playing with a bunch of other artists to cover his own band, IRON MAIDEN. Of course a bunch of local bands opened. I have never seen so many old people there in my life. The show started off with a performance from THREE FACE. That band sucks. If you ask me, the guitarist learned from GODSMACK when he should have been learning from SLAYER. Then FAIL SAFE came on and they were AWESOME. Then ORNJAV got on and they were absolutely horrible. Every member looked and sounded like Alex Adler. Followed by them was Deepset. I have a lot of respect for them. They're the only local band who has the guts to get out there and be hair metal. The problem was that we were surrounded by retarded, drunk, stupid, blonde, obsessed, groupies screaming at the top of their lungs. They were even saying things such as, "Oh my God, I love Deepset so much I'd take it in the ass from them!" The IRON MAIIDEN cover band finished it off. They consisted of the singer of Deepset on vocals, the guitarist of Deepset on guitar, the singer of FAIL SAFE on guitar, Dave Spitz of Black Sabbath on bass, and of course Nikko McBrain of IRON MAIDEN on drums. The crowd went fuckin crazy. They knew the words to every song. It truely showed the power of the almighty IRON MAIDEN! (then we went to WENDY'S)
