entry:
Alright, so, it was in the summer between eleventh and twelfth grade. Danny Simmons picked me up. Then we drove around Publix for a while looking for Travis Lamp. Then we realized he had already been picked up. So we went to pick him up. Then we went to Luke's house. Me and the whole band hung for a little bit at Luke's. Then we went down to Sonfest Church, or THE END, as some of you may know it. Just to let you know, the band no longer has six members. It's been cut down to four. Lee and James are out, so they're just down to one vocalist, instead of two, and one guitarist, instead of two. Since I've grown up with all the members of the band, we just sat there talked about memories. Then Luke was talking about how he was going to start some Spanish straight edge band called xcasadillax. It was really funny. I was really hungry so Danny was like "Wanna go to McDonals's?" I said "I don't have money." He said "Don't worry about it." A couple minutes later, Josh said "Travis do you have money?" I said "No." He said "OK I guess I'm payin for both of you guys." I said "So, that's why Danny said not to worry about it," and then everyone started laughing and Josh was like "You little rat, Danny! You're so paying me back!" So, me, Danny, & Josh went to McDonald's, brought the food back to the church, and ate it there. Then we packed up the trailer with their equipment. Then, Danny Ryan arrived. Then Luke's girlfriend arrived. Then three female friends of Josh arrived. Then we set out. The show was in a church called Emanuel Church in Palm City. Palm City was forty-five minutes minutes north. That's not as far as Ft. Lauderdale which is an hour and a half south, but still, this was the farthest north I've been to a concert. Usually when I talk about a small town, such as Palm City, I usually say the larger city that's near it, which in this case would be Stuart, but that's not that big either, so let's say Port St. Lucie. I hate Martin County. There's cows everywhere. That's why I call it cow land. What sucks is the new Kelsey Club will be located in cow land, Port St. Lucie, actually, and will be called The Mojo Room. Anyways, me, Danny Simmons, Josh Rager, & Danny Ryan were laughing the whole way up in Danny S's car. We pretending to be black and yelling out really stupid, random, silly things. When we finally reached the place we took their equipment in. Me and Luke stole some fruit cups from the Church's kitchen. I ran into Lindsy, a red headed friend from Art Stage, dance major from middle school, a Gatorette from high school, who disappeared into the military and came back and was there because she was friends with Josh. She said she was pregnant. She said it so nonchalantly that I don't think she even cares if I say it here, where everyone can see it. On first was brokenbynow. They were one of those modern rock kind of bands. They were actually pretty good. Then KNOW THE ENEMY got on and tore that place apart. I came out and sang with them during is this posi enough and during one for the ladies. Unwanted Superheros played and they did good. LIFE WITHOUT SHAME played and they were good. During most of those band we were all out playin around in parking lot though. I said bye to that pretty girl Caitlin that I know from somewhere but I don't know where. Not Caitlin Koran, but another Caitlin. Then we went out to Denny's. Everyone kept laughing at the fact that I ordered hash browns, applesauce, and a strawberry/vanilla milk shake. Somehow we got back into a conversation about xcasadillax. Danny Ryan said that the people who booked the show and the crowd were really impressed. So, the next time they do a show, they're going to give KNOW THE ENEMY a better spot. I then discovered that Michelle, Danny Simmons's x, is giving me a ride to SOUNDS of the UNDERGROUND. On the way home we listened to all my favorite EMINEM songs.
