entry:
It was a sad time in the first semester of eighth grade. Indulgence had decided to break up. I almost cried at this news. They decided to hold their last concert. So the day for their last concert came, and my parents and the Goldings and a bunch of other adults from church (I HATE CHURCH) were hanging out in City Place so they decided to drop me and Chris off at SPANKY'S to see the last Indulgence performance. WAY TO FUCKING GO, Indulgence cancelled. Cocoa Sante filled in. There would never be another performance by them again. So me, Chris, Albon, and Eric Bytler played pool as the speakers would play KoRn, MUDVAYNE, NIRVANA, and CAKE in between bands. I saw Elise, but nnnnoooo, she was too cool to say "Hi." Up first was INCODE. They kicked mother fucking ass. It was one of their first shows, and little did I know that a year or two later they would be one of the biggest local bands out of Miami. Up next was some crappy band that really sucked, I have no idea who they were. Then simplekill came on. Brand new band at the time. David Golding was telling me how awesome they were and once I saw them live I was very disappointed. This was also a band that would be on the local mainstream a couple years later. Then Koko Sante. I hate comedy bands. The singer was dressed as a ghetto leprechaun, their back-up vocalist was a fourteen year old chick wrapped up in caution tape, the guitarist was wearing whity-tighties and a towel wrapped around his head, the sampler was wearing a mask of Chef from SOUTH PARK, the drummer was a chick, and they sang retarded songs about nothing. They even had a song about DRAGONBALL Z. Come on people, how fucking gay can your band get. After Indulgence broke up, the local scene collapsed for about a year and then re-exploded with bands such as Stillkept, DEADSTAR ASSEMBLY, simplekill, one:, and INDORPHINE. The only bands that successfully survived the Indulgence era were INCODE, simplekill, and whatserface (at the time they were known as blyndside).
