entry:

Alright, so it 4/15/6. It was in the second semester of twelfth grade. KNOW THE ENEMY had broken up for a few months. They got back together with some new members and adopted the new name, Take 'em Out. This was their first show in a few months and it was their first time opening for a bunch of signed bands (since they got fucked over with that whole BLOODY SUNDAY situation). The new line up looks like this: Luke Pennel on vocals, Danny Simmons on guitar, Danny Ryan on bass, Nick Willie on guitar, and Travis Lamp on drums.  Danny came and picked me up from Chris Golding's house. I was visiting him cause he had surgery on a hernia. We're in the car and I told him about everything I found out that day and how I was sorry if it'll be difficult for me to enjoy the show. So, me and Danny went to go meet up with everyone at The Thirsty Turtle. Funny, cause me, Chris, and Casey went to eat there the previous Wednesday. Danny didn't have any money so me and him sat out in front of the restaurant while he put his new strings on his guitar. When they were all done eating they came out to talk and head down to RAY'S. It was the first time I got to meet Luke's fiancé, Ashley. Danny was complaining after everyone had left cause he was like, "Man, they take this getting there early shit so serious. The show starts at seven. They're like 'We need to be there at 5:30'". His fat ass is so funny. On the way down to RAY'S, Danny revealed to me that he's going on the international youth convention in California. THANK GOD. I'm so happy he's going cause if he wasn't, then the only friend I'd have there would be Alena, and it'll be awkward as is and I hate church enough. SO THANK YOU GOD FOR DANNY SIMMONS. He said he'd really appreciate it if I help him out with Billy. He's really going to help out with him. Billy's this crippled kid that has a real good heart and Danny can relate cause he's got a bad leg and ya know. So, I know it sounds terrible that I think Billy's annoying, but I do care about him, so I agreed to help out. So, we got down to RAY'S. I helped carry their shit in. Eugene and Rachel were there with Nick Willie. I was joking around with Nick like "Hey, I've been to more shows of your band then you have." Apparently, one of the guys in one of the bands was like "So, who's on first" and some other rockstar guy was like "I don't know, but hear they suck and they always play drunk." I was laughing so hard when I heard that, cause let's face it.....it's the truth. So, when people start showing up I notice Mike Meed and Jeff Tomesulo. I was like "what are they doing here?" then I realized "ah, Nick Willie." I got in free once again, dun da da dun! Once people started coming in, I noticed Corey Haze (Ken's little brother walk in). I was like "what the hell is he doing here?" then I realized "Ah, Nick Willie." Take 'em Out hit the stage They did really well. People were looking at me funny cause I knew all the owrds to their songs. I didn't run up on stage this time cause they're opening for a bunch of signed bands and I didn't wanna take away from the identity.....or embarrass them. Taylor Wurtz walked in and came over to chill next to me. Now, that I really couldn't figure out why he was there. I noticed Kevin Hawk, Justin, & Brian Hessian walk in. Apparently they're all into this stuff now? Anyway, Take 'em Out did great. The whole time Danny Ryan was pretending to be drunk off his ass on stage. It was pretty funny. After they were done I spent some time chillin with Brian and Taylor in the back by the pool tables. cassius cancelled or something. BURN IN SILENCE was really good. They were like black metal which really surprised me. too pure to die was pretty cool. The best part was when they ended their last song with a hardcore version of Eye of the Tiger. I was like FUCK YES. That was so cool. So, after that I went outside to chill with everyone out there. I was lying on the ground talking to Danny S. and  Mark while they were sitting on a bench. All of a sudden, someone's like "Travis" and I look over and it's Jonathan Ruperick, from my boy scout troop. I was like "woah, blast from the past." He was just  hanging out in City Place. I told Brian Hessian was here. he was surprised that Brian's all into this hard rock stuff. I was like "yep, thanks to me. He's actually social and listens to crazy music now." So, apparently the kids that Danny Ryan, Danny Simmons, Luke, and Mark fought at the darkest hour show a year and a half ago at SPANKY'S that I missed (do not confuse this with the incident of Dimitry at the darkest hour show at RAY'S half a year ago) showed up and some shit went down. So, bassically Danny S. told me that we're leaving after we fight. He told me to something like "I don't want you to get involved cause if you get beat up your mom is going to kill me." I was like "sure thing." Fighting is so fucking stupid. So, BLACK MY HEART got on. I went inside to watch them. That was the best part of the show. It was so awesome. There was like a million pile ups on top of the stage during the gang vocal parts. They were so fuckin good. So, after they were done I went back outside and nothing had happened. So, Danny S. was just like "go watch the last band." MISERY SIGNALS was really good. During one of the last songs some short buff guy standing by me said to his tall skinny friend "Ma, that kid's a little bitch" referring to Danny Ryan. His skinny friend was like "Yah, oh, man, right after the show, I'll deck him in his face." So, after the show I went outside and told Danny S. and Mark. Apparently Mark had already gone in and punched one of them in the face. He was showing us his fucked up hand. I was like "Damn." For the record, I've broken my hand six times from punching stuff. Only once was on a person and it was Kevin Hawk's head. So, me and Danny went home.
