entry:
This was a very fun show. Every band played phenomenally. It was in the second semester of eleventh grade. It took place on 3/22/5. So me and Chris got their an hour early. We ran into Chong and every member of my current band except Eric and our drummer (who's name I forget at the moment). So we hung out with them for an hour until we heard THE BLED get on. So me and Chris went and claimed a couple of seats. We sat down and watched them play. They kicked fucking ass. I was surprised that the HOT TOPIC posers didn't boo them off the stage..........oh wait, that's right, now it's cool to listen to stuff that I was into two years ago such as hard core and underground metal, not so underground anymore huh? Anyways after they finished we stayed in our seats. I forgot to mention our perfect view. We could see everything going on. Some HOT TOPIC poser from school named Teresa which I hate sat next to us..... peachy. Then they raised the SHADOWS FALL curtain. They started off with the first 20 seconds of We Solute You by AC/DC, but they were hidden when they did it. The lights were off too. Then all of sudden, out of now where, SHADOWS FALL pops out on stage with non-stop double bas while they're all head banging in circles (Brian Fair has the best dreads of all time) while the strobe lights are going. It was very entertaining. They were playing some new song. Then they played THOUGHTS WITHOUT WORDS. Then they played like three new songs followed by 2 new songs, which were Inspiration and The Power of I and I. Then Brian Fair was like "this next song is a drinking song. It goes out to one of the greatest guitarists of all time" and of course he got the whole crowd to be like "Dimebag! Dimebag! Dimebag!" Yes I was very devastated about Dimebag Darrel's death :(, as so better have been the person who is reading this. Then they played DESTROYER OF SENSES. The singer of lamb of god came and sang with them during the song. They finished their set with What Drives the Weak. I have now officially seen SHADOWS FALL more times than any other official band. Then Chris found Briana and she snuck him a ticket to get into the front row. So then I went to go sit with my band, and Chong of course. I could still see everything really well. Then they removed the SHADOWS FALL curtain and behind it was the lamb of god curtain. lamb of god kicked mother fucking ass! They played stuff from all three albums. Of course, it was all great. I guess yuo could say this made up for missing them at Ozzfest 2004 because of the damn hurricanes. You know what I'm about to say, but I'm going to say it anyways. Look at how good it would have been: Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, SLAYER, DIMMU BORGIR Superjoint Ritual, Black Label Society, SlipKnoT, hatebreed, lamb of god, ATREYU, BLEEDING THROUGH, LACUNA COIL, EVERY TIME I DIE, UNEARTH, GOD FORBID, OTEP, Devil Driver, MAGNA-FI, Throwdown, darkest hour. 4 down, 16 to go. Alright so, one thing that really pissed me off, was that during their last song, their was a break down, and right before they get to the breakdown, the singer sais "alright, all you hard core kids down there show them how it's done in the pit" and then, nu-metal kids start bro-moshing down the isles. Do you not see the audacity of the situation! These HOT TOPIC posers do not know anything! WHAT THE FUCK! After they finished, they put a large white curtain up which covered the stage. Then they projected onto the curtain live stuff from the Jägermaester and Ozzfest tours of 2004. THey did this for an hour and then everyone hears Prelude 3.0. Then the curtain drops and they play The BLister Exists. Then they played (Sic) There seriously must have been about 4 songs off each album that they didn't play because htey played EVERYthing. Let's see, I don't remember what order they played the songs, but I know they at least played these songs: (Sic), waiT and bleed, Surfacing, SpiT iT ouT, liberaTe, geT ThiS, PEOPLE=SHIT, EVERYTHING ENDS, THE HERETIC ANTHEM, LEFT BEHIND, Prelude 3.0, The Blister Exists, Duality, Circle, Vermilion, Pulse of the Maggots, & Vermillion Pt. 2. If I forgot anything please forgive me. Also you need to forgive me for the fact that I'm not going to be able to tell you the order of which things happened. I already told you what happened in the beginning. I know that happened in the beginning, but everything else will be out of order except the ending. um...let's see. Everyone sang the chorus to liberaTe. Everyone sang the chorus to PEOPLE=SHIT. There was one part where Corey Taylor was like "how you guys like for us to play a song that we have never played in West Palm before?" and then everyone was like "Yah!" and he was like "Do you want it or not! I'm gonna ask you again, do you guys want us to play a song we've never played in West Palm before?" and everyone said really loud "YAH!" and he was like "I think they're ready for it you guys" and then they played EVERYTHING ENDS. There was one part where he was like "Now, I've made a bet with sound guy back there, that I can get all you mother fuckers wound up. I'm gonna make a bet with you guys five dollars that I can get you all wound up with one sentence. You guys wanna take the bet?" and everyone was like "YAH!" and he was like "You guys already lost the bet, cause if you're 555 then I'm 666." Then they played THE HERETIC ANTHEM and everyone sang the chorus. Everyone sang the chorus to LEFT BEHIND. Everyone sang the chorus to Duality. Oh, I forgot to mention, their set up was way cooler on the big stage for this tour then it was when I saw them on the second stage at Jägermaester. See, at the front of the stage was at his percussion set on the far left, farther down the right was James Root , farther down the right was Paul Grey, Corey Taylor was usually in the center but he could walk all over the place,, further down the right was Mic Thompson, and on the far right was Chris Fehn on his percussion set. Behind them was Joey Jordison on his huge drum set. on the back right and left of the stage were two giant TV screens and ramps which led up to both of them. On top of the left screen was Craig Jones sampler and on top of the right screen and on top of the right one was Sid Wilson with his turn tables. The TVs would show animated stuff relevant to the songs. Chris Fehn's percussion set would lift into the air every once and a while and Sid Wilson would walk down the ramp and jump on top of it for some odd reason. There was one interlude of the show, where everyone except Joey left the stage, and Joey did this amazing drum solo, and then the drum set plat form lifted into the air and started spinning around and hsit while he was still doing the solo, and everyone was like "Joey! Joey! Joey!" and it was cool. There was a giant circular screen hanging above the stage which tilted towards the audience at one point of their set and showed a music video to Circle. They actually played parts one and two of Vermillion live, which was amazing. Of course, during Pulse of the Maggots, the audience did that stupid "AH!' thing when that happens during the song. There was one part where Corey Taylor said "in 1999, they said this band was a fluke. In 2001 they said this band was an abomination. In 2003 they said this band was over" Two fuckin weeks ago we received our platinums for Volume 3." and everyone stated clapping. The last song they were supposed to play was SpiT iT ouT. Before they played it, Corey was like "I'm gonna take the craziest crowd in the fucking world test," and they played it. There was a part during the song where they stopped playing and Mic just kept repeating that one rith while Corey says "OK, now, only the crazy mother fuckers get on the ground," and then everyone got on the ground, and he said "ok, now, when I say JUMP DA FUCK UP what are you guys gonna do?" and everyone yelled "JUMP DA FUCK UP" and he said "but only when I say JUMP DA FUCK UP. Are you ready? Let's go" then he did that little rapping part and then he yelled JUMP DA FUCK UP and everyone jumped up. It was really fucking cool. They left the stage and everyone called for an encore. So they came back out and Corey Taylor was like "You didn't think we'd leave without saying goodbye did you? Do you wanna hear some old school shit" and everyone was like "YAH" and he was like "do you guys wannna hear some old school shit?" and everyone was like "YAH!!!!" and he said "but first..." and then he asked them to give it up for each of other bands who played. Then they played geT ThiS. Then they played waiT and bleed. Then he was like "This is our last song. Let me see those middle fingers in the air, cause this last song is going to be the new world fuck anthem. This song is called Surfacing." Everyone sang the words to those last 3 songs obviously. After the show me and CHris went to WENDY'S. Yah.
