10/27/2006--That was the date. It was in my first semester of college. Well, the usual.....Brian picked me up. We headed south. We listened to the Travis Fucking Finch soundtrack on the way to Ft. Lauderdale, from MC CHRIS to Gargamel!. We got there an hour early. So, we went across the street to WENDY'S, just like we've done every other time we've gone to a show there. When we went over, we still had a little time before the doors open. Chris Anchors and Bleak showed up. We did everything in our power to not let them notice us. Cassie was texting me about how Dan wanted to take a break form her.......drama. We were texting about the whole night between bands. Waiting in line we talked to the twin brother of the singer of LAST LAUGH. Finally, we got in. It was the only show I had ever been to at the CULTURE ROOM that was crowded like a mother fucker. Wow, it's been two years since I've been to that place. The only thing that's changed I think is they knocked out a wall to the bar for more space. That's not why it wasn't crowded though, it just wasn't a sell out show. It's still a small venue though for the kind of shows they have. Inevitably Chris found us. I don't mind talking to people I hate, it's just that he ruined Brian's life. I'll admit that Chris has gotten a lot better though. Bleak is still cool as fuck. They were telling me about how talented I am with my voice. THREAT SIGNAL was good. I pointed out that their bassist looks like Nick Willie. The brother of the dude from LAST LAUGH jumped on stage during them. After the song he did during, the singer was like "Who was the guy that jumped on stage?" and everyone pointed to him up on the balcony, so he was like "You're there. You crazy mother fucker, well get down here. DON'T JUMP" After them, MNEMIC got on. They were fuckin awesome. I had been waiting a long time to see them. The new singer matches the original perfectly. Bleak hit his head really hard in the mosh pit, so he and Chris had to leave early. The twin brother of LAST LAUGH's singer (I really don't know his name) got thrown out for swinging in the pit. The gayes fucking thing in the entire god damn world was that throughout the night people would just get on stage look at the crowd and put the horns up and smile. It's like "no, you're not cool. you're fuckin gay." So, MENEMIC was amazing. darkest hour tore that shit up. They were better than on their headlining tour when I saw them. At one point the singer was like "Who went to the beach today? WEEEE DIIIIIID!" It's interesting that they're the only American band on the tour. After they were done, me and Brian had a talk with the Nick Willie look-a-like from THREAT SIGNAL. We compared and contrasted the geography and society of Canada and the U.S.....since they're from Canada. So, the second Swedish band of the night hit the stage....SOILWORK. They were really bad ass. I was kind of upset they didn't play No More Angels but at least I got to hear Overload. It was bad ass. They had a guitar battle when they came back for the encore, followed by two final songs, the last one being Follow the Hollow. On the way back, Brian and I continued to listen to the Travis Fucking Finch soundtrack from Gargamel! to EMINEM. I got home and talked to Cassie till 3 in the morning about Dan. I hope things turn out right.
