DREAMS OF DADDY

I always dreamed of you comming back
And taking me to the park to play
I wished you would come home to me
And love me more somehow, someday

But dreams are like their dreamers
Only an illusion held withing time
I am the sullen dreamer dreaming
And so I write this dreamy rhyme

Daddy came home with pocket change
And placed the coins into my hand
Told me to go buy some sweets and such
His smile was the grandest of grand

Daddy came home today
In his pressed suit and tie
Daddy said "I love you"
And I know daddy doesnt lie

Daddy came to see me
And play my childish games
We laughed until the sun set
And made up funny names

Daddy read me bedtime stories
Scared away the monsters under my bed
His voice shielded me from harm
And I remeber every word daddy said

Daddy is my hero
He stood so proud and tall
We played untill dinner time
Untill we heard mother call

And then I wake from my dream
And burts into an ocean of tears
Daddy was never really here for me
And daddy never soothed my fears

Dreams bring a sliver of hope
But hope to, fades with time
And so I sadly end
This dreamy, hopefull rhyme
