Just a little respect

Would I even know

What they gave me?

If someone offered

To listen and care

Would I be able

To tell the difference?

If someone told me

My thoughts made them think

And I was so special

Would I belive them?

Someone gave me respect

More of it than I can stand

But I didnt even know it

I didnt even want to belive it

Because time after time

Of no difference to my words

I finally gained respect

When I was used to none

So I was cautious

Because as fast as it came

Someone just might

Take my respect away

I think maybe Im better off

Without any respect

Because this way I know how to act

And no respect, is my home
