A NOTION OF TRUTH

Its just plain silly, what Im about to propose
Just a silly something, that everybody knows
Yet knowing still, they all ordain
About being too fat, or looking too plain
They all know they should be happy with whom they are
Not complaining about their hair, or some silly old scar
Because somewhere out in this grand place
There is a lonely person, with a battle scarred face
And someone who is dangerously grown obese
A certain someone who is falling apart, piece by piece
A little child, no toys with which to play
A grown man, no coat to keep him warm on a cold winters day
And what about those people, who will never have that attractive stance
Those who will never find their one and only, their true romance
But isnt it ironic, how those lonely few
Do something in that situation, we will never do
They wear that warm and gentle smile on their face
They still walk with pride, hope, and astounding grace
Thanking god for what they DO have instead of what they dont
Embracing what they WILL have instead of what they wont
We take it all for granted, not thinking of it twice
For our greedy society, nothing but everything will suffice
But what if one day, just one of those few
The unattractive, obese, and disabled, what if one will be you
Would you still complain like you did those days before
Would you still act greedy, still want more
You might say "I would never do that, that is just not me"
But sadly you ARE that greedy person, open your eyes and you will see
