WASTED
Drowning in a pool of her own tears
withering at the sound
Dwelling on her own worst fears
listening to her heart pound
Looking in the mirror through torn eyes
she watches it all fall apart
So many utterly worthless tries
wasted on a broken heart
She sits alone on the empty floor
begging for someone to comfort her
She stares at the motionless door
wishing for it to stir
She hides away from all she seeks
thinking she'll never make it
She turns away afraid and meek
not moving from where she sits
Now it's hard to move from this spot
she has often called her safe haven
She sits and waits while her heart rots
until finally she gave in
