THE LAST GOODBYE

You woke me up one morning
Said you were gonna leave
I always knew it was coming
It was just something I didn't
Want to believe
You told me that you loved me
And that I wasn't to blame
It's not my fault this happen
But it still hurts all the same
Who'd take me to the store
And buy me a new toy?
Who'd take me to the games
And protect me from all the boys?
Who'd get me a glass of water
When I wake up from a nightmare?
You said you'd still do all those things
But how can you when you're not here
Please don't leave me
I promise I'll be good
Now you're crying, saying
You'd stay if you could
Did I make you mad?
How can I make it right?
You told me not to cry
Said everything would be all right
You gave me the biggest hug
Then walked out my door
That's when I knew
I wouldn't see Daddy anymore
